The Los Angeles Lakers:2010 NBA Finals Series is down to $38.99 (from $55+). Don't think its going to go any lower in the near future. I'm a fan, so will get it. Next on my sports watch list would be Ultimate Jordan.

I'm seeing Black Hawk Down at $7.99, not $14.49. It showed up today in my Gold Box for $7.59 and I bit.

Can someone explain how it shows up in your "box" I just have the regular gold box on the main page. And it doesn't have any movies there.

Sorry, more accurately, I should have said it showed up in my Quick Picks, which are at the bottom of the Gold Box page. These are items that you've either looked at on Amazon or are related to items you purchased that Amazon randomly waves under your nose (selection changes daily) and says, "Hey, you know you want it. We know you want it. Howse about I knock fifty cents to a buck fifty off of it? Then you can finally justify the purchase."

Thanks no need to apologize I've seen many people say that I've just never asked. Thanks for the clarification.

The old one is $7.99. The new "Blu-ray Essentials" edition is the one that hit the new low of $14.49. It may well be the same disc inside but the older edition is OOP and you did well to pick it up if you wanted it.

I can't possibly screen for new editions versus old ones so I hope people do their homework before buying.

It's the same disc. Just has an ugly slip cover.

I'm wondering if I should wait for further drops on THX-1138 and Forbidden Planet, but it's taken forever for them to even get down to $13.99.

Forever? Really? Both titles were released less than a year ago. But to answer your question ... yes, wait another "forever" and it will be even lower.

Isn't this the ultimate double-dipping attempt? They have the audacity to re-release many titles as new with the same BD inside, just a different (uglier) slip cover, and at $5-10 extra. All that just a year later than the previous.

Not sure what to call it, all the Clint Eastwood movies went up and down? The ones that they had on sale this year. ARE ALL up, the ones they did not under $10 each. Ok one is $15 but its a two movie blu-ray set.

Yeah, if I ever get those releases of Spider-Man 1 & 2, those ugly slipcovers are going right in the trash.

To be honest, it's not really an attempt to double-dip. They don't expect consumers that bought a blu-ray last year to buy the new version. However, what it is, is a blatant attempt to put out another much alike product with a different UPC code. Why is that important to them? Simple. The studio gets 100 percent of revenue at FULL retail price for the first two weeks for every 'new' release. A new UPC = new release. Even after the first two weeks their cut of the revenue is better than the older release that has been out for many weeks. Thus they get more money for just repackaging the video.

Now, if the merchant's cut is still better than what he was getting on the old release, he doesn't mind. However, particularly with the increased amount of after-market sales, that's not a given.

Hatchet 2 BR for $15.99 is a great price, I had to pre-order it. Picked up The Social Network also.
