I've never heard of DVD-Basen but it looks like a handy site.
Was thinking of getting Shoot 'Em Up since the transfer is supposed to be pretty good but opted out before finalizing my order. Went with Bad Boys (if that's any better by much), Misery, Return of the Living Dead, Rambo (just to complete my collection even if it's not the Extended version but supposedly the extras in this version is better) and Terminator 3 (hopefully it's the 1080p version and not the old 1080i version with the crappy video).
Bummed that I missed out on Event Horizon yet again.

On Amazon deals the DOTD really is not much of a deal unless you miss it back in Nov/Dec 2010. Save $1.00 over there low time low.

I, also, have been getting RZ points when buying Amazon Kindle Cards.... and I have received points when buying Best Buy Gift Cards... which is per their own FAQ on RZ web-site.
They do however not give you points when using a Gift Card.
I removed all the other non-point earners in that quote.
The question I was posing to kenbenobi was if he was getting RZ points when using a BB GC to buy an Amazon GC...
Which hopefully he replies soon.. cause I am sure when you covert your BB GC to Amazon.. it would be worth it to get some BB RZ points..

You can buy them with the BB c/c, but I dunno if they would qualify for the zero interest financing. They could have exclusions. They seriously offer THREE YEARS no interest now??? I knew they did 18 month offers...

Actually, they DO for online purchases. Apparently the form of payment information for web purchases doesn't transfer to RZ. So I try to buy everything from BB online when using GC's, so I get points.

^^They run 3 years about once a month or so. I make all my big purchases during those promos.

Regarding Shoot 'Em Up, I got mine on DVD for $2 from a previous BF as a blind buy, and after watching it I was thankful that's all I paid. I wouldn't call it horrible, but it's utterly ridiculous. I don't remember many details, but I'm pretty sure with tons of bullets flying I was amazed how he manages to hit everyone and they keep missing him. I guess all the bad guys don't believe in target practice. I think I saw Shoot 'Em Up for $4 used on BD at Blockbuster this week and easily passed on it. Or maybe that was RocknRolla... both easy to pass on. My $2 DVD will suffice. For some good shooting I preferred Taken.

Based on all this discussion, I'm going to go ahead with my Shoot 'Em Up purchase.
I actually have it on DVD but have never watched, and for $6, this seems like a Blu kind of movie.

Which he answered here relating to online purchases..
so we have established the following
1) BB RZ points for "purchasing" BB GC.
2) BB RZ points for "purchasing" Amazon GC.
3) No points for redeeming a BB GC in store for anything even Amazon GC.
4) BB RZ points for redeeming a BB GC online.
Therefore... we might as well get BB RZ on our Amazon Blu-Ray purchases..

Event Horizon arrived yesterday. It's amazing how you think a price can't get any lower and it goes even lower. These should all be $4 next BF.
And, Shoot 'Em Up is one of the worst movies I've seen in the last few years. Absolutely painful to sit through.

I did come closed to buying Season 14 at Target (I know this is not a Target Thread) but they had SNL Season 2 for $13.99.

Shoot 'Em Up was great, if you love over the top action films you'll really dig it....

I really should watch Shoot 'Em Up again but my recollection from watching it several years ago is that it's a forgettable movie. I'm into over-the-top action films that I've picked movies like Wanted and Crank (couldn't stand Crank 2 though) on Blu. As with any film, people will love it or they don't. Maybe I might change my mind with a second viewing.

Shoot 'em Up is a blast. Very much in the same ballpark as Crank and Wanted. Plus you get Giamatti just chewing up the scenery.

Look the point of Shoot em Up is that it's intended to be a live action Bugs Bunny cartoon (notice Clive is always chewing on a carrot). It's ridiculous but its intentionally so. If that sounds like your bag then you'll love it. I thought it was a blast.

Another vote thumbs up for Shoot em Up. It was one of the first blu-rays that I bought and not only was the movie great, but it was one of the best discs video/audio I've had on my system to date. And that was a couple of years ago when I've bought it and that fact has not changed since.
