Re: Wal marts Official black friday ad

As advertised in your local ad, this item will only be available in stores at the special low price on Friday, November 26.

Never mind just saw this disclaimer on the Legion Bluray page, guess the door buster price is in store only

I was checking CAG and someone said walmart.com online deals are going to kick in at 3AM EST. But I am not sure.

Maybe for electronics and other stuff that might be the case but it looks pretty obvious based on the disclaimer they have on all the bluray titles that are known to be in the 5 dollar deal, that those are strictly in store.

Re: Wal marts Official black friday ad

I was thinking they might go that route since obviously that will be midnight west coast and they won't lose out on 3 hours worth of deals which is what would happen if they started at midnight EST.

Guess I'll see what I can rack up in the morning. Thankfully I took the day off work so that I could get just about all of my Christmas shopping done asides from 2 main presents for my wife (for which I already know what I'm getting)

Silcence of The Lambs
I am Legend
Princess Bride
Ice Age
Dark Knight
Batman Begins
The Departed
The Day After Tomorrow
Heat
Simpsons Movie
Night At The Museum 2
Live Free or Die Hard
Walk The Line
I Robot
ID-4
Mr + Mrs Smith

Still 9:35 over here- will keep watching to see how many East Coast stores put their Blus out before 12. Sounds like I should get there earlier rather than later- have stores been open normally today (Thanksgiving) or are some going to stay closed til 12?

I'm in Sacramento- all the print ads here have said 12:00, and doing a specific store search on their site shows 12:00 for when they go on sale, but who knows?

Consider yourself lucky... my store had 10 $5 blus... that is it. No $10 at all. Most dvds were marked incorrectly, no $1.96 dvds... awful. just awful.

Owings Mills, MD had these for blu:
The Departed, Gran Torino, The Box, Heat, I Am Legend, The Notebook, Dark Knight, Batman Begins, some animated Batman, Final Destination 4

Yeah, I got to a Wal-mart in Charlotte at 11:45 and it already looked like a trailer park in Tornado Alley. Didn't see much left, but got Valkyrie (10), Final Destination (5) and Road House (5).

like i suggested in the amazon thread, it doesnt hurt to go to the titles you want and click the notify amazon of a lower price link, and let them know that its one of the 5.00 walmart titles, considering quite a few of those are 8 dollar titles on amazon allready, alot of times thats what helps get them to price match.

Re: Wal marts Official black friday ad

Wal-Mart of Fayetteville, N.C., was out of control. Most of the displays were half empty. But there were tons of WB and Fox titles, along with Wolfman and Get Him to the Greek. I ended up grabbing Heat and the Departed for $5 each and Hot Tub Time Machine for $10.

Thanks for the lists, much appreciated. It would appear that the advertised "over 60 titles at this [$5] price" was less than accurate. Oh well.

Re: Wal marts Official black friday ad

Just got back from the Roseville, MI store and it was a total pooch screw. As we were walking in, I noticed that 3/4 of the people walking out were carrying NOTHING. Walking in I saw why: total mayhem with people snaking all around the store randomly to get to the registers. I've seen refugee camp photos that looked more well-arranged.

Fought our way back to the DVD area and found thoroughly looted pallets (we got there about 12:35 am) with absolutely no way to determine what cost what. Most of the BDs were priced $15 and $20 according to the tags, but had colored "PROMO" stickers on the front. There was no signage explaining what the color codes were and no one around to ask. For example, Percy Jackson ($10 in ad) had a black sticker and a $20 price tag. There was no rhyme or reason.

My girlfriend, who's not a big Walmart fan to start with, freaked out at the swarming humanity and fled the store. With no idea what cost what and facing at least an hour wait for checkout, I left empty-handed. It wasn't until now and seeing the posts above that I know what the prices were. Some nice deals, yes, but as the g/f said, "Even if they were giving away free money, I will never come back to this place."

Hopefully, Amazon will match some of these. If not, oh well.

Same at the Walmart in Noblesville, IN. I decided to actually do some grocery shopping for some items we forgot for our family dinner tomorrow, and made sure to arrive early to see what was going to be available in the $5 and $10 range. I thought if there were some I wanted, I would make sure to pick them up when the were released.

Not so, as everyone has mentioned. As I approached the "action row" where they were located in the produce and food section, I could see people walking towards me with handfuls of blu's. I sped up my pace and got there just before they were officially picked over - and this was at 11:45.

I ended up with:

$5 - I am Legend, Night at the Museum 2, Departed, Princess Bride, Walk the Line, Wrestler, Rescue Dawn

$10 - Blind Side

I had the chance to pick up Silence of the Lambs and Bull Durham, but, for some brain freeze, I didn't pick up either. Silence I would have liked to have and may wander out later today to go to Fry's and stop at Walmart and see if they had replenished or if anything is left - store should be much emptier by then.

All I can say is what a total chaotic mess, moving around with a cart was not a fun task. By 12:00 a.m. and, by the time I was getting ready to checkout, the lines were huge.

Forgot, they also had Nine, Independence Day, and Predator. It worked out well for me as there were several high wants that I had just never picked up.

Did you happen to be at the Noblesville store?? Mine had a similar situation in the video game department with some idiots who tried to camp out with chairs and block people from making purchases.
