Just popped in on the lightning deals page, and Spartacus Blood and Sand on Blu is 95% claimed, if anybody's still hoping to get that one.

EDIT: Now waitlisted.

That's the thing. The new lightning deal format is really encouraging me to make single purchases, then others were split.

I added this to my cart then let it expire, then let it stare me in the face as it counted up to 100%. Just couldn't pull the trigger after all my other spending.

If Amazon were smart during this time they would wait until the end of that business day and then compile all possible orders although they were not ordered together.

I actually received a single box today from them with three separate blu-ray orders that I made on Wednesday at various times.

Yeah, they do this sometimes (much to my chagrin when I pay them for Prime, but as long as they don't hold one order out an extra day to combine it with another, I guess I don't see the harm).

Maybe they don't want to let us have buyer's remorse

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

I finally decided to buy the Mad Men Seasons 1-3 BDs. I'm bumping up against my upper limit of spending, and the show gets too soap opera-ish for me at times, but to get a show that overall is great and to get it on Blu Ray with top notch A/V quality and an absurd number of bonus features for $10 was just too tempting.

Smart move. It is unlikely that we will ever get these sets for less unless you steal them.

I got four packages from Amazon today. The funny thing was the UPS truck came to my house four different times during the afternoon. I've never had them make more than one delivery in a day.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Anyone know when the "regular" deals will end? I've been holding back on some of the $7.99 titles to use as filler for some of the lightning deals throughout...I just realized that they might not all be up for much longer.

I know Amazon probably hasn't said anything, but I thought someone might have an educated guess based on last year's deals.

I've bought a good amount of stuff this time around, and, although I rarely make blind buys, I've made quite a few this year. Most notably, picked up Mad Men even though I've never seen more than 30 seconds of the show.

I've never seen a single ep. But at $30 for the series, I figured WTH. If I don't like, I can probably sell for close to break even.

I've had Outlander on my shopping cart since Monday, I just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I've seen it slowly go down to $5.99 and I think I'll buy it based on your recommendation. It may take a while before I get to see it but I hope I won't be disappointed

If the delivery estimates are to be believed - I'll pause while y'all laugh yourself silly - I may be getting about seven deliveries on Monday. This is the week where Prime pays for itself.

The only Blu exclusive is extended cuts of some of the episodes.

But every review I've ever seen raved about how how good picture quality was for the show.

But if you're not an extras junkie, then you're probably fine in SD.

1) Extra extras.
2) Excellent picture quality.

Sounds like great reasons to choose the BD version over the SD version. What else could you ask for?

If you're okay with it being on DVD instead of Blu-Ray, I've seen dozens of copies at Big Lots for $3 apiece.
