Yeah, I picked that up with the quickness. It's pretty awesome having a family member working at amazon. I get 10% off these already great prices!

I almost fell asleep at the wheel, sitting her distracted at my computer. 10 minutes into the deal and already 81% claimed...phew, that was close! I need to just read the forum and refresh Amazon all day :-)

I jumped in on this one as well. This is one I have wanted for a while and this was a great price. This has, and most likely be my only purchase for today (thank you free prime - a $5 movie shipped for free). And, unless anything happens to change in my cart, Ice Age is the only interest for me tomorrow - none of the other lightning deals tickle my fancy. Looking forward to what the prices are for some of the deals on Friday...could be a good day.

I got The Mummy as well (As well as Man on Fire)

Also, I know this is the Blu-Ray deals section, but I think a lot of people will want to know.

Entourage seasons 1-6 will be a lightning deal tomorrow, 10 dollars a season.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

I couldn't believe the awesome price on HIMYM s4 bluray (12.99) until I discovered that it's the only season of that show on bluray (and there will be no more blurays for that show apparently). Blah. I had that happen to me before (with Burn Notice) and I have no desire to do it again, so I canceled that order.

I like "guess how many" games so...he/she ordered 69 titles, so I'm guessing at around $8 per title he/she spent $552. Survey says...

Then count me in as guessing $552.01.

(I'd estimate nearer to $650, despite all of the fantastic deals he was able to enjoy.)

I can't find any info to confirm the Entourage Lightning Deal. Do you know what time window it will be on tomorrow?

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

From Amazon's Facebook:

Many thanks to the more than 13,000 people we can now count as "likers" of Amazon.com Movies & TV. We're not quite to the 50,000 that we were hoping to reach by Thanksgiving, but we still want to show how much we appreciate your support. So we will be lowering the price of "Mad Men" Seasons 1,2, and 3 to $9.99 each on DVD and Blu-ray from Nov. 25 through Nov. 27. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I think that was to be expected. Still, it would have been funny if they just didn't put it on sale.

Interesting though that the DVDs and Blu-rays are the same price. I think I'll get this on Blu-ray, finally. Seems like a good blind buy.

I had a feeling they were going to do that. That's awesome.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

I was hoping they would offer something else since I already own Mad Men and they didn't get 50,000 fans, but great deal for anyone else that plans on buying them.

You guys realize I'm trying to avoid this thread right? It's like crack.

Anyway, $700. That final order was for 70 titles, don't know if I listed all of them as I did it fast. Average $10 each. Some will be resold or traded to friends after I watch them. So far I've only got three Dragon Dynasty films in.

My B&N Criterion orders that I made Sunday night make the Amazon order look like amateur hour.

I can now hibernate comfortably through the winter.

I'll be picking up a couple copies of Mad Men for gifts. That's a damn good deal.

I'm glad they have a heart but then again they know that tons of people are going to get on this deal. I might take my meal time around this and try to order it.

I don't know what your meal time has to do with this. Just order it anytime over the next three days

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

I will be forced to pick up the 3 Mad Men seasons on Blu. I'm sure I'll get to it in about 5 years. My rule is that I won't start watching a TV series until it is over because I will get caught up and then not get the current season on DVD/Blu for a while and then I feel like I have to re-watch the whole series. There are a few key exceptions as always.

Interesting with the "new" tags they have put up. I think tomorrow is the first day they have done that. Waiting to see if there will be "new" lightning deals the rest of the run.

Isn't that the truth. With a 9 month old, work, sleep and trying to get some time with my wife, I seem to have limited times for movies lately...however, that has not seemed to stop the addiction of purchasing, and today is only Wednesday.
