It was in an e-mail I received today about the upcoming Black Friday week. Don;t have in front of me, but believe it was for $70. Still too rich for my blood, but the best price so far.

I know people don't like Columbia House mentioned here but they had a killer deal for this a couple weeks ago and I believe it is still going on. There was a B1G2 free deal (free had to be DVDs). Check the CH forum if interested for the code.

I got the Alien Anthology set on bluray shipped for 69.99 with 2 free Criterion DVDs also shipped free. Turned around and sold the Criterion DVDs for about $18 each after fees which knocked another $36 off of the price of Alien set. Wound up paying about $34 out of pocket.

I didn't see that Alien deal in my email, but I'd bite for $70.

Did you get a rejection notice or something? Because going by the terms of the membership, you definitely should qualify. All they ask when signing up is that you be a 'Family Member' of a child.

Back home and checked my e-mail from Amazon, states that it will be $70.49 as a "Blu-ray Deal of the Week".

I'm a dad and signed up for this the other day. No problems getting accepted. Your situation is a bit mystifying.

This all started about my call about the free prime for students. I still go to school, I like school, odd part about it is I did not like it when I was younger. I had try to get the free prime and the person said I could only get it with a .edu address. I do not have a .edu address.

Then she started to talk to me and I found out about the Prime Mom. By this time I had just paid for Prime. She did not really care for what I think about mothers that leave their kids. And had some nice words for me (Like I have not heard them before?). In the end Amazon gave me some time free and a GC. When my Prime membership runs out or if they ask then I will get the Prime Mom. Even if I am not a mother, that is another topic for another time and board.

Side note, I have not order anything from Amazon for two days. I feel very sad

Simon says...yes! Holy cats, I just picked up the Alien Blu Ray set, TMNT Blu Ray set, and Last of the Mohicans Blu Ray film for $94.47.

So LOTM for free, plus another $5 of of TMNT, or I could split the dif., and call it $2.50 of Aliens and TMNT. Sheesh, suspect I will be hard-pressed to get a better deal on the above films anytime in the very near future.

It's funny, had TMNT in my cart at $35, and it bounced back to like $41.99, and then dropped to $28.99. I thought it was a great deal at $35, so a no-brainer purchase for me at $29.

I hated the price on the Turtles Blu set (it was what, stuck at $40-50+, forever and a day, or so it seemed), so glad to see this major price reduction for this boxed set...as I have had it in my cart/wish-list since I first heard it would be available.

Even though I tend to stream most of the films I watch from Netflix, and take advantage of watching lots of films in HD on cable (not a waste of money for me, because I watch a lot of cable films...so it save me from hunting down a lot of Blus at sale prices)...at the above prices, I see I am not yet immune from adding the occasional title or two to my smallish blu ray collection.

I'm tempted to bite on Batman: Under the Red Hood but I saw that's one of the lightning deals this week.

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

$12.99 is a lot for 50 First Dates when FYE has it for $4.99 now. I saw a stack of them there, yet I passed because the reviews of the 50 First Dates BD said it was a poor transfer and missing most of the DVD's extras. So I'll stick with my DVD.

They're showing Harry Potter Years 1-6 Giftset [Blu-ray] as the gold box deal of the day on Tuesday. Here's hoping to $30?

They also have the BTTF Blu Ray set listed for Nov29 as a lightning deal. If it drops to $35 or less it would be such an amazing deal. I may have to pick up a few for gifts if that's the case =D

I hope you didn't miss the Barnes and Noble thread. TMNT is sub $20.

I have the HD DVDs for 1-5, and BD of 6, but if it's all 6 for $30ish, I'd probably bite. The audio is PCM on all of those (except) 6, right?
