They are doing this Black Friday sale at amazon.co.uk and Harry Potter set was £12.97 which is roughly $20.70 USD. Its sold out now but its possible it could come to us at a killer price but probably not that low.

It says it will be $39.99 for Blu and $23 for DVD.

Just took a quick look at the "Spotlight Deals" BD list on the Black Friday page at amazon. LOTS of BDs with list prices from $20 and up going for $8-$10. My wallet could be in trouble.

Showing back in stock now. I thought I got a great deal when WB had that awesome sale and I averaged around $6.00 each. If I didn't own the set, I would be all over this one. It will be interesting to see what amazon.uk does this year for BF compared to the U.S site. The U.K. many times has awesome pricing.

Been in my cart, and they have matched Target @ $7.99!

I also noticed:

Harry Brown $14.49
Blind Side $10.00
Hangover $10.00
Vicky Cristina Barcelona $7.99
Dollhouse Season 1: $13.99

A few I really want to bite on, but want to wait and see what happens with the pricing. Walmart has their in store blu rays going on sale on Thursday at midnight and curious to see the quality of the 60 movies in the $5.00 range.

Really hope they match some of B&N's box set prices from yesterday since I missed out on 'Life'

Yeah, the price-ranking feature on amazon never works. The blu-ray.com listing is much better.

I can't believe some of these amazon prices. I saw some of these same titles at Costco yesterday...for what I thought were pretty good prices. Glad I resisted.

It's in stock, but not at that price anymore. I would have bitten.

For those that are curious: this Harry Potter set isn't just the six individual releases boxed up, but a set of two double-disc and one triple-disc cases. They save space, but some might not like that.

Does anyone know if the earlier seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show have been re-released in keep cases to match the later seasons?

EDIT: Nevermind, checked the "Fox TV gets smaller" thread and found that The Mary Tyler Moore Show Seasons 1-4 had been re-released in April of this year. Going to go ahead and place my order for the whole series now and hopefully I'll get the new cases for the first four seasons.

EDIT: Wow, looks like I actually already saw this and was pleased about it:

Glad to see Mary Tyler Moore will have consist packaging for the all of the seasons now. If I can find a decent sale price I might pick 'em up individually instead of waiting for the oft-delayed complete series set.

Some of the all day deals are better than the lightning deals... Get Him to the Greek and Hot Tub Time Machine and She's Out of My League are all $10 each... There are other $10 and $7.99 deals as well...

Anyone recall if in the past they contacted Amazon about specific prices at a B&M to see if they would update their prices. Right now definitely some titles I will be picking up, but 3 they have not matched are Walk the Line, Seabiscuit and The Simpsons which are going to be $7 at Meijer's on Friday. I mention it since they have already started to of course match some Friday prices already at other stores.

Or I suppose since it is on Friday specifically, we could not contact them until then anyways if they don't adjust to that price yet.

Anyone remember if Amazon continued to drop prices on certain discs all week? I see some discs with the lowest prices they've been, but if I can save another couple of dollars by waiting, then I'll try to push my luck.

I've contacted Amazon before and they say they don't match store prices. Of course, that doesn't stop them from matching sales a few days after stores have big sales, if not sooner.

Yes, this is looking more promising than the lightning deals. The best thing about last year's BF week at amazon was just trolling through the various genre lists of DVDs or BDs and finding all sorts of cheap prices that weren't included in the lightning deals, and you might not know about unless you browsed around. I certainly don't need more BDs right now, but this could turn out to be fun.

Couldn't agree more...this is where I had the most fun last year...and spent the most money!

some great prices.

I guess I should have waited for the BF sales. Too bad I got "Mask of Zorro" and " Stardust" during the year. :(

Got "Showgirls" for $8. contemplating "She's outta my league" and "Percy Jackson" and will see how how I can hold out for the LOTR movies

The link posted by riotinmyskull above is probably more useful but this is the Direct link to Amazon's Spotlight Deals for Blu-ray Disc.

Definitely information overload today.

Grabbed The Mist for $8. Really don't see anything else. A lot of this is just old titles and crappy New Releases. Sigh.
