Stores (like Newbury Comics) also have used on-line sales but frankly I've never had a problem with any highly ranked Amazon marketplace vendor and with the number of vendors with 98+ ratings it would seem few do have problems. But to each his own.

That said, for NEW I think you've made a valid point - it doesn't appear The Simpsons have been lower for single sets.

The average was around $9-$10 each. Not really bad at all. Every year I usually place a large BF order at Amazon. Sort of a tradition in my family! I've watched probably about 98-99% of my BF grabs the last two years.

I'm done for BF this year I think, unless Amazon drops the Lost set low enough on Friday. I'll wake up for that one.

BTW, I've done fairly well in the stock market, and I also got a really good job this past year. I've become used to having a big bill for BDs every month. It's easier on me than when I used to have a car payment/school bills.

The UPS guy probably already hates me anyway. My dad used to deliver mail locally for USPS, so I'm ok as long as I don't piss off our mailman who he is friends with.

I've heard mixed things about Australia, but one of my former college professors is actually friends with Nicole Kidman so I picked it up for him. Heard "The Happening" is terrible. Wanted to see it for myself.

Am I correct that when TV seasons go on sale (such as Smallville S9 or The Simpsons S20) that only the version listed (i.e. the DVD and not the Blu-Ray) gets a lightning sale price reduction? I did check the Smallville ones when they were active and saw no Blu-Ray editions for a little more, so I guess I've got to decide if I want the Simpsons DVD set for $12.99 or hold out for a future Blu-Ray deal. I think people said that the Simpsons don't benefit much from 1080p video (unlike your average computer animated movie), so maybe DVD is good enough for me...

That's a reasonable guess. With the B&N deal @ $27.99 + tax (assuming Amazon is aware of that), anything higher isn't going to seem that great, plus $29.99 would only be a few dollars off the current price (though I've seen some video game lightning deals that were $2 off a normally $19.99 price). Someone earlier said there's a up to 70% MSRP limit which I think placed $23.99 as the lowest it could be. $26.99 is right in the middle of those 2, and at that price I'd probably order from Amazon and return my B&N set (if B&N doesn't cancel it first). If Amazon is $28.99 or higher, then if my B&N order has shipped I'll pass on Amazon.

BTW, I've periodically checked for video game lightning deals and so far I've hardly seen any and the few I saw were crappy discounts. I thought last year there were a bunch of good console games in lightning deals for $10 or $15.
