I have the POTA Legacy collection still in shrinkwrap. So I have a (very small) hope that maybe I can return it somewhere after Christmas and get some credit, but most likely no store will take it back for store credit because it has probably already been deleted out of everyone's inventory.

I spent most of my time digging through reviews trying to find a comparison between the extras in this BD set vs. the Legacy set vs. the Ultimate set, and nowhere did I find a good comparison. From what I gathered it's probably pretty close in extras to the Ultimate set, but it may be missing a few.

I'm still debating whether I should buy it or wait. Is this sale likely to last the full time specified in the sale, or is FoxConnect (which I've never used before) one of those places that will run out of stock early or decide to jack up the prices at any moment?

After reading reviews of the Mel Brooks collection, it sounds like the BDs are sufficiently improved over the DVDs (and all but 1 is a BD50), no extras are missing, and some new ones have been added, so this is very tempting to me too.

On the plus side, no sales tax or shipping for me. I think the bigger worry is whether these will be on sale cheaper at Amazon during Black Friday week. One never knows...

On FoxConnect.com's cart page, it says enter your email address and first name and they will send you a coupon. Which coupon is that? The 10% NYCOMICCON one that doesn't combine with the 25% off, or is it for a user-specific coupon that will combine with the 25% off? I assume it's the former, otherwise people would've recommended signing up for that coupon.

Well, that helps to know that the email coupon wouldn't combine with 25% off, so 25% is the best discount available.

I'm still curious what exactly is the email coupon you get for entering your first name and email address? I'd like to know if it's the 10% NYCOMICCON coupon or a different coupon that perhaps expires later? I guess I could just sign up, but I was hoping someone here had already tried it.

The coupon I got for signing up last month was a unique code that could "be used only once per person and will expire a week from the date of this email."

Apparently the coupon isn't unique -- I've read online that other people got the same code. It's QC12YT9EA.

If that's true, then how can they make it expire in 1 week? How bizarre... Perhaps each week they create a new email coupon, and it is good through the end of the following week...

Indeed. That would mean that some people who request the coupon late would get far less than a week to use it.

I need to ask something I assumed was true before: this FoxConnect.com is part of Fox Studios in the same way that WBShop.com is part of Warner Bros.?

I ask because some people on SD were talking about this deal (a day late) and making statements about FoxConnect like "these guys are reliable". Well, if they are part of a major movie studio, I'd sure hope they are reliable. It made me wonder if perhaps this is an independent online retailer who specializes in Fox releases but has no relation to the studio.

It is part of FOX. You'll notice a zillion links to the various FOX areas at the bottom of their webpage. Fox has been going to conventions (SDCC and NYCC) to pimp their upcoming movies, and sell their exclusives (like the Alien set in the egg). Foxconnect is their newer site. Foxshop.com is their older site. I'm not sure why they have two sites now.
