And for good reason: I just received a copy of Get Smart: Season 5 that looks as if someone used the data side of each disc as a beer coaster (and apparently they had razor blades attached the bottom of their cans). I swear, somone was purposefully trying to ruin this set - it's the only explanation.

They also sent me a copy of The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007), not the The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 (1985) that I ordered. Two problems in one day. I'm still waiting until I receive everything from this order before writing them about it.

BTW, how long does it take to get an e-mail response from these guys?

No idea, but calling them is very painless... they will send replacements if possible or refund your money. You will just need to return the problem items using a prepaid mailing label.

Thanks. I had e-mailed them about a couple items from my first order the other day and never got a response. I remember getting much better service when I used them last year - they always answered e-mails in a timely manner. Weird.

I sent them an email on Thu, 10/21/10 and got a reply today, almost a week. It was for a cheap $2.99 halloween item that was messed up. I'm getting a refund for it. They do answer them usually but now they're just not as quick as they used to be.

Just so you ralize in regards to the pricing, this is just my guess but the price on their used seems to be in relation to how much they usually have in stock. Hence, if they have a lot of something the price will go down or what have you. Unlike a certain DDD who seem to put a sale on and then automatically of course raise the price on everything in that sale

Actually, I think they base it entirely on the used marketplace on Amazon.com. Not only are they active sellers there, but I've tracked changes based on the current market and saw the positive correlation.

Damn, I should have gone with the teeth. Actually, my nephew changed his Halloween costume for the 5th and final time and ended up using the white face paint. That would have been shitty had you actually wanted the vampire teeth and they arrived after Halloween.

In total, I ordered over 100 items throughout the free shipping promo. Not smart given the 30 day return window, but all those 75 cent DVDs were more than I could resist. I just received the last of my stuff today and when the dust settled, 34 of the titles look like total garbage (deep scratches, cracks or ripped artwork). I contacted them about three incorrect titles last week and they issued a refund. I contacted them again about a couple defective discs and they e-mailed me a return label. Honestly, it would be cheaper for them to just refund these then to pay for return shipping, but it's their dime.

Anyway, most titles where cheaper than the cost of a rental, so I hated to complain about so many items without watching them first. I made sure to clean each discs thoroughly beforehand. Most of the problem titles have started skipping from the first few minutes. I'm not going to continue contacting them about individual movies at this stage. In my experience, Hastings has never offered to send replacements for anything, so what's the point? I'll just box up all the junk and use the prepaid label to mail everything back at once. Great deals, but terrible quality control.

The only complaint I have is that one title I really wanted to get and so I ordered it(Wolverine and the X-Men Complete Series) came in as X-Men Origins Wolverine, arrgggh!!

Contacted and all they will do is have me send it back and give me a refund ... crappy part is all I can do is reorder but they won't give me free shipping. How annoying!

I'm sure I'll empty my wish list of Blu-rays to maximize the free shipping order -- my poor wallet is going to be anemic. The also have their mix and match, buy 2 and get the 3rd free (excluses Blu-rays) offer active using coupon code "MM123", but you can't stack the coupons.

The free shipping is good today only and it requires a code, so it wouldn't matter if it was extended until the weekend. Also, as far as I know the 30% off is in-store only.
