Yes, it's pretty damn good. I've only seen the theatrical cut though. The BD contains both versions of the film. I don't purchase a lot of movies anymore, but this one was on my list.

If you have Netflix, it is currently available via instant watch.

Just saw that Big Trouble in Little China dropped to $9.99 too (post above)...another fantastic film. I'd buy it if I didn't already own it.

Donnie Darko is pretty good, though I'd only recommend it if you're into stuff like David Lynch and Philip K Dick. The blu-ray contains both cuts of the film on the blu-ray and also has the extras DVD from the 2-DVD director's cut. Easily worth $10.

Yes.

However, the only extras retained from the theatrical version are only the commentaries. All the extras are retained from the (inferior) director's cut as they threw the DVD from that set's original two-disc set.

Also to note, if you watch the director's cut on the Blu, you'll notice it comes from a different source. The picture quality of the additional footage is far superior to that of the rest of the film and makes for an awkward viewing experience (plus the fact that it sucks compared to the theatrical cut).

36th chamber is in 1080i, had some visual quality issues. I wish it could be better looking but it isn't.

^Several other of the cheap movies in that genre have also had quality issues reported, although I don't try to keep track because I am not familiar with any of them.
