I paid $35 Jan 09. Naturally, that did not include any Previews of "The Pacific". Worthwhile upgrade IMO.

I ordered "Evil Dead" from Amazon on the evening of the 7th, -I looked at it as a lottery ticket since the local "Best Buys" and "Wal-Marts" only had the one-disc, -and I just recieved the two-disc edition. Thanks to the post that nudged me to order it against my better judgement...

Spend $250 at Amazon- DONT pay the $12.50
Spend $250 at Best Buy- Spend $12.50 at least, but get $5.

Still getting the shaft, but if you're keen on instant gratification, more power to ya I suppose..
Don't forget if you're using an Amazon.com credit card you're getting 3% back in points towards an Amazon gift card.

This is new (I think), the Amazon Boxed Set of the Week is Dexter: Seasons 1-4 for $94.99 ($23.75 per season):

For those, like me, who got Dexter S1-S3 pack earlier, fortunately Dexter Season 4 is $24.99.

Well, my Evil Dead finally shipped out yesterday. I had Frozen in the order with it, so I assume that's what was holding it up. Hopefully, they had a nice 2 discer set aside for me.

Personally, I prefer the gift card since I track all my DVD purchases. Those purchased with the gift card are greatly reduced in "price paid." I know it's not technically any different, but it isn't nearly as fun as just applying it to your statement.

Good to see the Gold Box deal for Torchwood Seasons 1 and 2. I will be ordering those tonight.

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

It looks to be cheaper to pick up all three volumes of Torchwood from amazon.co.uk. From what I've read, they're all region free. I took it all the way to final checkout and the grand total ends up being $60.16 shipped + any conversion fees your card might charge you.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Torchwood-Co...7063980&sr=1-1

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger myself because of the price and I actually like the cover art for these versions better overall.

Interesting. Do you know if the special features are identical between the US and UK releases? DVDCompare.net doesn't have any of the Blu-Ray releases in their database.

If you go that route, though, you lose out on earning the 150 points you would have received towards your next $50 award. Using the gift card to pay earns NO points, while crediting your statement or receiving a check and continuing to pay with your Amazon card keeps you earning 3 points per dollar for another reward.

I had Frozen and Evil Dead in separate orders and got shipping notices on both today so it may just be coincidence.

I don't, but I'm looking for that info. This drops the price of the series down to one I'm willing to fork over for, but I want to make sure it has the same features. I'd imagine so since BBC/Warner put out both versions, but I'll let you know what I find.

Amazon UK also offers a package of all three Torchwood Seasons - I picked one of them up from a third-party seller a few months ago for about $50 delivered. Picture quality was stunning on the one episode I watched. To my knowledge, all the bonus features are the same, but I never did much research to verify this (typically Amazon reviewers are pretty good about pointing out such things).
