"Days of Heaven" $24.99 at Amazon

I ordered it yesterday and it was $30.99 (it arrived today btw). Today it's $24.99. Will they credit me the difference? I'm watching it now and didn't find out about this until after I opened it up.

You're joking, right? How could you possibly not know about the B&N half-off sale (~$14 with coupon)?

Does it sound like I'm joking? I wouldn't have purchased this or any movie had I know about any half off sale.

That sucks. Look about four threads below this one in the forum.

As for Amazon, they do not have a post-order price match any more:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...8502#postorder

But it doesn't cost you anything to send a message to customer service asking, so why not give it a try?

Yeah, I did. Thanks.

And I need to start visiting the BD Bargains forum more. I usually do and didn't this time. I just did this hit and run thread without looking at the others. And I now see the B&N posts. Oh well....

Can't. As I said above, I had already opened and watched it. If I return it now, I'd have to lie and say it was defective. But then they would just send me another one.

I did go through pages and pages of the B&N instructions and I have to say, I'm pretty confused. $5 off for this or $15 if it's over $50. Saw that someone drove all day hitting every B&N to get all the titles. I'm guessing none of these coupons could be used online. If so, can someone send me the code for that? :)

He's saying buy a sealed/new copy from B&N on-sale and return that copy to Amazon in the place of the copy you've opened to get most (if not all) of your money back from a return.

As for placing orders online, go through one of the weblinks that gives you 7% off and free shipping; the Criterions are already half off. No more coupon stacking for them if you buy online.

I bought that full price back when it was released. I rarely buy anything full price. If I found out that movie was on sale on amazon for 5 bucks today, I wouldn't be mad. It's Days of F__king Heaven on Criterion! What can top that? Not much, in my book. Of course, there are other books, i'm just telling you what it says in mine. And mine says, be thrilled you have it. If there is one movie to overpay for, you got it. :)

Oh I agree with you 1000%. If I didn't think the movie was worth $30.00, I would have never paid that much. It's one of the most beautifully shot films ever made. Just kind of pisses me off that A) the price dropped on Amazon in just a few hours after I purchased it and B) I didn't do better research (here).

Rant mode off.

The Barnes and Noble Criterion sale is more noteworthy to me than the infamous DD 20% sale.
