That is true, however there is often times language that you must buy from the state live you live in to get the rebate. If you do in store pick up at Best Buy you are not going to run into that problem.

IIRC so did Braveheart and Gladiator, but I got both $10 rebates even though I purchased both for $10 each at Amazon during BF week.

Regarding the rebate, do you have to cut the UPC off the blu-ray as well? I wouldn't mind the dvd since it's being replaced, but I wouldn't want to also destroy the bd.

I remember reading somewhere that both UPCs are required for the rebate. I almost bought it when it was $16.99, but was discouraged by that prospect. For $11.99, you can still keep your upgrade cost low by selling off the DVD and not having to muck up your Blu-Ray art.

Thanks Kent. I'm actually happy with my dvd and was only going to buy this one because it would be nearly free to upgrade. I'm not wanting to cut up a new blu-ray's cover art (and I doubt I'll even watch the movie again any time soon), so I'll just stick with the dvd for now.

You can just cut off a pop tab which is not big at all. Hardly notice those on my Braveheart/Gladiator BDs. Sometimes the pops are on inserts (was on my Gladiator DVD), but I don't know about that with the Gump BD.

Yep. The one I picked up had a slipcover and the 2 left on the shelf had slipcovers.

Went and picked up mine but didn't have the slipcover. Debating on whether or not to succumb to my inner geek and return it.
