There is nothing good that I cannot get at a better price used. I am not going to spend money for sake of spending it like I used to in the past. Disappointing.

I ordered Life BD from B&N.com for $31.xx. Then I see this deal from DD for only $5 more which I would've done had it been available at the time. I just checked my order status at B&N in hopes I could cancel it and order from DD, but it said the item cannot be removed from the order and its expected shipment date is June 23rd.

So, I see 3 possible scenarios in order from the most likely to the least likely:

1. I don't order from DD for $36.67 and right after the DD sale expires (or DD decides to jack up the price on this), B&N cancels my $31.xx order.
2. I order from DD before they raise the price and run out of stock, call B&N tomorrow to cancel my order and then B&N tells me they can't cancel it (even though they're supposedly out of stock for weeks), then DD ships right away and I end up with 2 copies and have to return 1 (hopefully refusing shipment on 1 will work).
3. B&N comes through on the $31.xx order.

Any suggestions what I should do? I just don't trust B&N not to screw me over on this by canceling on me after I miss the DD sale.

Couple of suggestions, and I'm being serious and trying not to be contrary.

1. Don't sweat the details and if B&N cancels it, almost for certain it will be this cheap again say around X-mas time and the BF deals for example. I'm sure you have plenty of other things to watch until then. I know I do and is why I'm not too upset for missing out on that $30 price and will be waiting until around BF or a great price on Ebay or trade.

2. If you NEED it that bad, buy it from DD as well and if you end up with 2 gift one or throw it on Ebay. Way too many poeple do not get these great deals that we get and are willing to pay way more than we do and you end up actually making a couple bucks. Or you can trade it on here for some other stuff you might want.

In no major rush right now, but with my brother coming into town next week I know he'll want to sock up on some TV on DVD that will be way cheaper here than in England, so I may throw in a couple of cheap ones - 'Trick 'r Treat' for sure

Not sure if you have to factor in tax and/or shipping if you plan to pick it up another way but I would look at this as a great price for a great movie. I jumped on it at $19.99 + tax.

Schloob1, thanks for the comments. I checked with B&N and DD. It seems there is no way to hold an order (even with Bill Me Later) at DD, and the price could always change. I think they (and places like Amazon) increase prices on popular items and decrease them on unpopular ones. DD said I could refuse shipment but then I don't have any proof of sending it back (return shipping would be almost $3). I guess I'll risk letting the B&N stand and hope they ship as they said it would (supposedly only orders with the GSA coupon and not through the GSA link were to be canceled).

You're right that if they cancel on me, I should just wait for a future deal as I have plenty of other stuff to watch (and little time). I think I've just invested a bit of time this and don't want to end up empty-handed.

On the subject of this sale, is there a way to search all of DD's Blu-Rays sorted by lowest to highest price? I only found the sort option when I clicked on certain of their existing lists by genre and such (and there are too many to click through). I thought there was an Advanced Search, but maybe I'm thinking of a different site. You'd think there'd be at least 1 $7.62 BD I'd want, but I'd like to see the full list.

I'll probably jump on the Defiance/Enemy at the Gates BD 2-pack for $17.14. OOS at the moment, but a good deal at $8.60 a movie.

I found showgirls for 17.86 for a preorder but I think its the cheapest it will be come that tues . It was the blu ray dvd combo pack

I have been wanting to do the same thing but I can't figure it out if it is possible. I don't think it is though. You can sort all kinds of different ways on DVDPlanet, so I've been looking on there then finding things and then seeing what the price is on DD. You can do this also - go to DVDPriceSearch:

Up top click on Power Search.

Title Keywords = Blu-ray

Price = Greater than $5 and less than $16

Store = DeepDiscount (leave "only include titles where this store has the lowest price" unchecked to get even more results)

Then search. On the next page down at the bottom you can choose to search by lowest price. Keep your eye on the "Price At Deep Discount" column of the chart and those are your prices before the 25% off discount.

You could search for "blu-ray", then click the "blu-ray" category on the left and then sort that list. I get 2,690 results with that.

Ugh, Jesus Christ DD. Thanks for making that easy to just find on the site. I knew I didn't see an option in the Blu-ray part of their site anywhere. No clue why I didn't just search for BD.

Maybe 'cause I thought they would actually GIVE AN OPTION FOR IT IN THE BLU-RAY PART OF THEIR SITE.
