The show any good? I've never seen it, nor even know what channel it's on, but it sounds kinda like the X-Files/Fringe.

It's on SyFy, it's very good, almost for the sole fact of Amanda Tapping being in it. It's almost entirely filmed on green-screen as well. It's just an all around great show. The 3rd season starts later this year. I'm probably gonna pick the dvd of season 2 up on amazon for like 2 bucks more than Walmart's price just because I don't support Walmart.

Hmm. I might have to check a few episodes out. It's comong out by E1, who I've never heard of, so I might wait for reviews to see if the quality is up to snuff.

E1 also put out the original S1 DVD which looked amazing--not sure how much better this could get.
The show was originally done as a web series (in HD), and then the first few episodes of the first season were basically the web series all over again. The show is shot in HD, and they do almost everything in green screen.

Yeah, E1 is great, the season 1 release was fantastic. It's also the first show ever to be completely shot on RED cameras.

I'm watching it now. The DVDs look fantastic for non-HD.

As for the show, imagine if Mulder had a giant building where he got to keep every weird ass creature he found and you have Sanctuary. The characters and actors are amazing.

I'm a dozen episodes in and it's good but so far it just seems to be missing something and I can't quite put my finger on it. I am looking for some kind of payoff though so hopefully JoN is right.

Just ordered! I thought this post was about the SD seasons at first. As soon as I realized I was in the BD forum, I jumped all over this! I love this show. I was disappointed when S1 was released on SD only. Glad I didn't buy it then...

Got some giftcards at home, show sounds awesome, will blind buy these when I get home if I remember and the price is still at this point.

Even better deal now at Family Video--21.99 each, $1.99 flat rate shipping (they may also have a free shipping coupon floating around).

Will prob just keep my walmart order with extra tax since I was using a gift card to pay for most of it anyway.

For those with Netflix, season 1 can be streamed. I have it in my queue to watch but haven't gotten around to checking it out. May have to now to see if it's something I would like to purchase.
