I like the non-exclusive cover more, as it has Alice on it and typically I don't want things like film cells and I won't be getting the poster, but I actually like those cards, so I am pretty sure I'll go with the exclusive.

Just realize the exclusive one says until supplies last.

Yeah I know that, I'm gonna be going in on Tuesday morning anyways. They'll still have some of each version for me to pick from.

I'm glad there's another Best Buy in Pacoima. Can't wait to see the new location.

As much as 11.99 sounds good, I don't know if I wanna risk going to Best Buy at midnight on a work night only to get the coupon shot down.

Come on Amazon... Time to step up to the plate and reduce Armageddon to $12.99 (or less)!

Because some best buys might see the $5 dollars off at midnight as a coupon already and choose not to take the $10 off coupon. Alot of best buys already have problems with taking coupons anyways.

^ They might not give you both 'offers', but just choose the $10 off if need be.

Yes, some cashiers at all chains have issues with manufacturers coupons, but I stay polite and insistent and have never had one denied.

There is actually a 24-hour Best Buy near me in NYC, so while I can tech. go there and buy Alice at midnight, I cannot get $5 b/c it is not listed (no BB's in NYC are actually).

That is just annoying.

If I'm following you:

The $5 midnight special is midnight only at those specific stores.

The $10 manufacturer's coupon should work all the time, but technically they could deny combining it with the $5 promo due to the fine print on most promos.

As always, everything at every store is YMMV all the time.

Yeah, it just recently opened (less than a year old), but I don't exactly see the need for it. It is near a NYU dorm building so maybe they get college student business at crazy hours.

The one time I tried to go after-hours, it was on a Saturday and they were closed (only 24-hours M-F).

12.99 was cheap enough for me to nab Armageddon, especially since I had a $5 reward zone coupon.

Besides the $5 discount, there's also the possibility of getting rejected because it's a Best Buy exclusive version.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices (May 30 - June 5, 2010)

Previously, when BB has had midnight sales, they have carried over their special discount pricing to be valid for the first hour or two after store opening on release date, to allow the rest of their customers a chance to get in on their advertised special deal (since not every store/area has the midnight sale)....

Now this time they have even less stores than usual opening at midnight (only 1 out of 34 in the state!), and yet no special carried over doorbuster pricing? Nice....I'll be hitting Target instead, where I am sure there won't be any problems with the coupon ringing up correctly as well...

Re: Best Buy Media Prices (May 30 - June 5, 2010)

I think I counted 18 stores in the ENTIRE country that are doing the midnight release. So damn pointless, closest one to me is just over an hour away.

I think they are doing this on purpose to drive traffic to their stores rather than being a convenience.

I don't get the point of a midnight movie release anyway. Are you really going to drive back straight home and stay up to 2-3am on a weeknight to watch the movie? Just pick it up before/after work on Tuesday.
