Non-exclusive run time is 122 minutes but this one is 158 minutes.

I don't know specifics, but the run-time of the Canadian one says 158 minutes, and the US one is 123 minutes (according to Amazon.com). So apparently the Canadian one is WAY longer...

EDIT:
iNCREDiPiNOY beat me, while I was typing... He typed faster.

Which is Gilliam's preferred runtime? I assumed the current one was what he wanted?

Are you sure it isn't an Amazon typo? Nothing else says the exclusive is a longer running time or exclusive Director's Cut.

Re: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - Canadian Exclusive

Are we sure that run time isn't a typo though? I haven't heard anything about an extended cut anywhere. Plus, I found a Canadian Blu-ray edition of this on axelmusic.com and they have back cover art posted, and the run time is the standard run time, not 158 minutes.

Re: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - Canadian Exclusive

I am wondering if this isn't a typo, but rather an alternate declaration of the run time. Perhaps, the film itself runs for one hour and fifty-eight minutes, and is what the "158" represents. Perhaps, 122 minutes is the movie with credits in the run time. I do not know for certain, I am just guessing. With Heath Ledger's death, it seems hard to fathom they would release an extended cut.

Re: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - Canadian Exclusive

The Canadian version has an exclusive slipcover I believe. The run time is 100% a type-o, I guarantee it. Why would it need to be 30 minutes longer? The story is very nicely tied up and not rushed in 123.

Update: Looked at the back cover on axelmusic.com. Runtime is 122 minutes, features are 56. Also, there may be more bonus features. The Canadian version has them all spelled out, while the Sony USA has a smaller box though not necessarily less features.

Ahh, I misunderstood what you meant by typo. It could very well be. Or some weird new time standard that them sneaky Canadians have come up with.

Wouldn't that make it twice as long though?

Do people even say type-o? I just had a 6th grade English teacher who did so I may be in the minority.

Anyway, the US Blu-ray at least looks great, I watched it two nights ago. So much better looking than the art house projector used when I saw this in theaters.
