Meh looks like nothing at Target for me that week. I'd like to get Crazy Heart but not at that price.

You're not giving them any credit for having the best price on what will probably end up being the best-selling Blu-Ray title to date?

Just keep in mind this is a bare bones release with the loaded edition coming in November supposedly.

Yeah. I just can't bring myself to buying this release knowing there's another version coming out, especially at the prices they want for it. I might be willing to pay $15 or less for it, because I really want it and want to watch it again, but even then I would wonder if I just wasted my money and should wait for the better release. Cameron is talking about re-releasing it in the fall with added footage, so I'm sure that'll be released on blu-ray soon after. And you know this movie deserves more than a simple bare-bones release, especially after Cameron has talked about special features he would like to see (like the pip of the actors in the suits before being replaced by CGI). They just rushed this out to gain some quick cash (like it needs it) while there's still a lot of hype about it. They know a lot of people are going to buy it, anyway, because they don't know (or may not care) about it being a bare bones release and that there's another version coming out. Then they'll have a much better release just in time for Christmas.

I think K-mart has a better deal. Buy Avatar: The Game (any platform) and get $15 off Avatar (any version). Combo Pack would be $24.99, so $9.99 after coupon (printed receipt). The cheapest game would be DSi for $19.99.

It's not really cheaper if you have no interest in the game though. Look at it this way, you're paying $19.99 for the movie and getting the game for $9.99; unless you really want the game, not really a good deal.

i find it hysterical in these threads that a lot of the people compalining about avatar being bare bones are some of the same people who durring the format war, and in the time since who claimed that extras arent important. or that they dont watch them anyways
(and iam not just talking about this thread)

in anycase 19.99 for avatar is a great price if i didnt allready own all of those movies i would pick up one of those as well to get the additional 3 dollars off for 16.99.

I was thinking more of the overall perception as I look at sale prices and what's on sale.

Too bad they don't have a better selection of movies to qualify for the $3 off.

I wasn't gonna buy the AC/DC - Iron Man 2 thing, but the Movie Cash is tempting.

Coupon doesn't print for the DSi game version, must be the larger consoles only apparently.

I don't see why not. It's a major release. I'd be surprised if they didn't...but I've been wrong before :)
