I got the US BD last week and wasn't blown away by the film. Certainly not enough to import the UK BD. But that's a solid option for those that like the film.

Seems to be the trend. $24.99-$26.99 is the price point for a WHOLE lot of new releases. Even Amazon doesn't provide much relief.
I thought we were headed towards $19.99 last year.
If the studios weren't doing such a bad, imho, job of releasing catalogs in a timely fashion, I couldn't budget new releases the way that I have been.
I hope Amazon pulls through on Crazy Heart this month.

I really enjoyed the film, and can't imagine what they took out to cut it by that much.

As far as I know the 13th, I guess they're not promoting it, which is dumb, but I don't remember them promoting Friday the 13th last year either, but maybe I'm wrong. I know it was $20 in the store and I had to do an in-store pickup to assure the $20 price so it must not have been in the paper, but in the store they were promoting the $20 price. So whatever.

$29 for the cut version of The Boat That Rocked/Pirate Radio? Hahahaha.
I picked this up in November for $18 on Amazon UK after conversion, iirc. And it's the longer cut, which the director intended (oh, and the original TITLE of the film too).
Definitely the most underappreciated film of 2009.... I have NO understanding how anyone can not love this film. The UK BD is fantastic as well and region-free.

I've been using Amazon exclusively other than the Toy Story deal, where I used K-mart.
So, I had been looking at Apollo 13 at the BB site and it's $18.99. Is it typical for them to take pre-orders at a lower price than their sale price in the ad, where it's listed at $19.99?
Or is it possible they've decided to match the Amazon price and it will be $18.99 in store? Do they match their own website?
Thanks.

These prices are laughable!!! Studios are whining about rental market taking away from sales, but it's their own fault! Plus I don't even understand the entire Retail Strategy as well. Only for $19.99 on Blu-Ray. I mean Law Abiding Citizen was anywhere from $15.99-$17.99 when it first came out. You were able to find Boondock Saints 2 for around $12.99 for last 2 weeks at BB. Hurt locker just came down to $20 price point, but still overpriced! I'm tired of this crap. I have about 300 Blu-Rays and most of them I purchased for less than $12.99 unless it's movies I really want to. The only movies I will be purchasing day one for next few months is Apollo 13 ($5 UNI FB Coupon), Armageddon, Saving Private Ryan and Where Eagles Dare/Kelly's Heroes and few other Eastwood movies on 6/1. Rest I will just wait for great sales!
Tired of Hollywood overpricing their crap! Also as much as I love LOTR, I'm not spending a penny more than $39.99. Maybe +tax, but that is it!!!.
