Safeway now carrying BD single-disc movies! (YMMV)
 

Did a search and didn't find anything, so I'm hoping this isn't old news...

It may not be the most exciting heads-up on the planet, but I noticed last night that my Safeway has started carrying single-disc Blu-Rays. I saw roughly a dozen titles, each going for $11.99. Rudy, Rocky Balboa and Striking Distance are the only ones I can remember at the moment. Sure, they're probably titles that can be had cheaper at Amazon, etc., but it's still worth noting that they're there, in case you "need" (impulse buy!) to pick up a BD movie with your groceries... ;)

Thanks. I don't know where there's a Safeway, but I'll keep an eye out at Kroger. They seem to get the same kind of stuff.

I just came across a few titles in San Francisco, today. All Columbia/TriStar:

Quick and the Dead
Hollowman
Striking Distance
Rudy
Hollow Man

Good news for the near future I'd guess. At $11.99 a pop, I passed. Maybe another Summer StayCation coupon is in the works...

I saw the lionsgate titles that are usually $8 at walmart today at my safeway for $16.99. Yeesh.
