Fudge. I already have Spaceballs and Young Frankenstein on BD, plus Blazing Saddles on HD-DVD. But it's still a good deal even for the 6 remaining movies! Plus I can sell my SD set.

Tempting! I really can't afford this right now (especially with the expensive March coming up). Maybe I'll cancel the back ordered DD Blade Runner, but I still need to think this one through, but I am leaning towards waiting and getting the two individual releases of History of the World Part 1 and High Anxiety, when they reach $10.

The only Mel Brooks film I've ever seen is "Blazing Saddles," which I thought was pretty great. I'm on the fence about blind-buying this entire set. Somebody convince me one way or the other. Am I going to enjoy these films as a general fan of comedy? I guess I'm most worried about them feeling stale or outdated, and since I have no nostalgia towards them, I may not like them.

If you liked Blazing Saddles, you should like most of his other films. The Twelve Chairs is not for everyone. To Be or Not To Be is a re-make of the Jack Benny classic. It's a very good film, but certainly not like the typical Mel Brooks comedy. Space Balls is great if you have seen all the sci-fi films that it spoofs (especially Star Wars). Young Frankenstein should probably be considered one of the Top 10 comedies of all time. Silent Movie is a great comedy, but also different from the other Mel Brooks films. The others are all closer to the Blazing Saddles style of comedy.

Thanks for the heads up OP. With the free shipping, it made sense for me to get the order in, and then I can decide if I definitely want it. But I think I'll end up keeping it--I've had my eyes on these movies going back to the release of the DVD collection.
