All of my last batch came in regular SD cases. All the earlier ones (@$6.99) came in BD cases. Go figure.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I got some very nice vortex replacement cases for 10 bucks shipped for 10 single disc ones and 2 doubles. That's not too bad. The cases worked out to I think .49 cents for the singles and .59 for the doubles with a 5 dollar shipping charge.. Got them in 2 days which is amazing. They never even charged my card either lol.... i used a prepaid paypal one time use as usual and I always delete the card after i get shipping notice.. Well I deleted it and then realized that they shipped it before charging my card. I am going to contact them this week and see about getting them their money.

Who did you order the cases from? I was thinking of Discmakers or Vernon Library supplies.

As long as I get my 17 Blu-Rays and everyone else on this group. Let it go down. What is a pisser is if you look a eBay everything they have new is now being sold.

A little off Topic and I am only asking being it seems that most of us are the same.

Where do they get the labels scan/jpgs at? I need some so I can print a new cover art on 3 Blu-rays. They sent a number of them in DVD case, but 3 of them had full size DVD covers. I have some case coming and would like the little ones.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I've ordered just one BD at the new price on these latest rounds, The Damned United. If that one shows up in a DVD case, and especially if it doesn't come with the original BD coverart and it has something printed off instead, I'm not even going to bother buying BDs from them anymore, even at the pretty great prices.

Being that is a new title that did not have dirt on it. You will be getting it in a DVD case. The art so far I have nothing to bitch about.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I don't really care if I get them in a normal DVD case. The main thing I worry about is the printed off crappy coverart. As long as I get the BD coverart I don't care about the case. Do you guys remember those stupid Hancock promo things at Best Buy back before that came out on BD? I still have an absolute ton of those that I got from every Best Buy between upstate SC and Nashville, TN for around half a cent for each.

Thanks for the response Glassdragon.

I have another question for everyone. Has anyone actually seen a refund after Hollywood has emailed and said that they issued a refund. I was promised a refund for a dvd they shorted me on 3/15 and I don't see any refund online on my card's website. I just sent back A BD and I don't see any refund for that either after they said they issued it both times.. Right now I have 4 unsettled problems with them that I havent got satisfaction on. The other 2 problems are they promised more return labels and never sent them.

I didn't place any orders, mainly because with the company in Chapter 11, there is very little recourse if there are issues. I'm not saying they're going to hold your money on purpose, but finding a way to give customers back cash isn't high on their list of priorities. I would recommend starting charge back procedures with your credit card companies as soon as it's allowed and see if that prompts a response. Even if they don't respond, most credit card companies consider a non-response in your favor.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I basically am waiting for my last order. And Im not gonna order anymore. The customer service is ridiculous and now with higher price and not giving blu case , I dont have any more reason to take any more chances. I am just praying my last order has no more problems. I did get 60 good items at mostly the earlier price and with the blu case. So I want to exit ahead. Its like a casino that you want to leave while you are ahead.

I received a refund from them. It took forever, but it did show up. The only other problem was I ordered a $4.99 bluray that came as a DVD, but it was a hope and see so I am just keeping it. I have received everything I have ordered so far.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I did get some of the refunds that they said they would give me. An even some of the missing Blu-Rays. Call me a ass if you like. But dameit I paid for those movies*

I bitched to HW to the point they called me. I gave them a trap line. This gave me their phone number and I did call it.

After 8 days I do a charge back. WoW on the 11 day I had the missing discs.

I did make a order the other day, mostly kids stuff and a bond I need. I order case also.

They will give you the 20% back it takes a very long time. In the end EVERY discs as of late I have gotten at 45% off.

Remember DAB by phone and not by email.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I think I'm officially done buying here. More expensive plus regular cases plus 2/3 I got today didn't have original artwork. Not worth it.

Which ones should be avoided that don't have the original artwork? The die hards have been one people have had problems. I got my order today and lucked out. No problems. Only thing is they like to write numbers on the disks in pen.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

I got my last order, and like others have said I doubt I'll be buying any more at the higher prices now that I know they come in regular cases instead of BD cases. Except for 1 title, everything I received in the past had the original BD artwork on the disc, but "I Love You, Man" which I just got today is all-one-color with no picture artwork like the Netflix rental DVDs I used to see.

The case says it has all of the special features. So, did other people also get this all-one-color rental BD inside for this movie, and does it have all of the special features the regular edition has? This weekend I'll check if nobody answers.

Re: Hollywood Video $6.99 used

Pretty sure that Universal doesn't have rental-exclusive copies. They did, however, choose to start producing discs with a silver face and blue writing and that's it recently, though. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

The copy I got yesterday fortunately had the artwork and I verified that all the special features are there. I don't think they did a "rental" version on this one.
