Re: Deep Discount Must Have Blu-Ray Titles as low as $9.59

I ordered "Blade Runner" and "Wizard of Oz", but both are now out of stock. According to the order page, both items will ship once they become available and won't be charged until that time. Am I correct to assume the current price will still be honored, or will the prices automatically update themselves once this promotion ends?

I'm in for Oz, and a 3 disc edition of GWTW has been announced for later in the spring, so I'll wait for that. Everything else in the list that I want I already own.

Grrr. Didn't want to start double dipping my DVD's but I guess my shiny new Blade Runner Blu-Ray can get placed in my suitcase edition. For that price, I can't resist.

Is the Blade Runner set the new slim case, or the original fatty?

Is there a reason Blade Runner is not available from Amazon?

Amazon usually acknowledges a reason on the product page, but, for $21.99, they probably sold out the same way Deep Discount ran out of them for $13.99.

Yeah, but usually Amazon gives indication that something is out of stock and more is on the way and you can still order. This looks more like its OOP.

That's what I thought which is why I bought BR for $22 at Walmart.com last week. I didn't want to take the chance that it was going OOP and would be unavailable soon.

I just went ahead and ordered one. I figure if I don't like the movie I can easily resell it.

I just hope the Bing cashback works. I saw nothing indicating it did.

I believe GizmoDVD had told me about a year or so ago they were permanently switching to the slim case. I haven't seen any fatty cases for them since then either.

I stopped shopping at Deep Discount after they started assaulting you after every purchase with a womens voice yelling at you to sign up for something. I really wonder who approves these idiodic marketing schemes ... why do you want to punish your customers?

I hate that too, but not enough to not use them when they are cheapest. I've gotten pretty good at clicking the 'no thanks' link before the voice even starts.

Bing cashback at DD always causes me drama. I always end up having to have Bing look into it and give me credit after it gets sent out.

Who says it's oop? Amazon doesn't have it because there were problems with duplicate discs in certain shipments. It's already been discussed here.

I received my order today and can confirm The Wizard of Oz is the three disk version. I know some people questioned this because there was no picture, but it the exact same one Amazon is selling.

no kidding! I didn't realize anyone on earth actually gave a rats ass about "digital copies" - I know I certainly don't...can't imagine why anyone would...or turn down a FIVE DISC release because it didn't have one!

I wouldn't turn down a release because of a lack of digital copy, but I do enjoy taking movies on the go with me on my iPod Touch. I never watch a movie in this format first, but it is nice for repeat viewings on the go.

Of course, my PC can rip Blu-ray and DVDs, so I can make my own digital copies
