Besides the DVD with the MGM documentary, is there anything new on the BD that wasn't on the DVD? Also, anything missing?

I know it says Emerald Edition, but there's no picture and no description. They also have the 70th Anniversary Edition for a little more. I'm not sure what that is. It's not the UCE. Since Gone with the Wind's 1-disc is called the 70th Anniversary Edition then it could be a 1-disc WoZ, but why would it be more? I'm wondering if I should go ahead and order this or wait to see if it's the correct version.

Edit: Then again the list price on Deep Discount for this item is $49.99, so more than likely it is the 3-disc version. I wish Amazon would price match. I have nothing against Deep Discount, but usually movies from Amazon ship from the next city over so I get movies in a day or two even with the Free Standard Shipping. But I probably won't get around to watching these for a while, anyway (after all I have a bunch of movies that I've yet to watch), so what would be the hurry anyway?

Just read that "Gone With The Wind" is being released in a similar 3-disc package called the "Scarlet Edition." Glad I held off and didn't buy the 1-disc version. I hope it uses the same artwork as the UK release BD does.

I see the Scarlet Edition has the "MGM: When The Lion Roars" documentary. WOZ also has this same extra. Its a great documentary but I wish they could have found something different to add to GWTW.

I was assuming that they'd be able to find (or create) a doc on Selznick, after all this movie was his baby (and released by his studio).

No, the UK edition is just the two Blu-ray Discs....this new US "Scarlett Edition" includes both BDs and adds the "When The Lion Roars" documentary DVD, which is completely redundant for owners of the ""Emerald Edition" of The Wizard Of Oz....

THE MAKING OF A LEGEND: GONE WITH THE WIND (1989) more than fits the bill, and is included in the big box set that's already out. That list of extras above can't possibly be complete; surely they're just taking the first three discs from the deluxe set and repackaging them, same as they are with the WIZARD edition? If so, this documentary would be included.

Is the UK Gone with the Wind blu-ray region-encoded? Looks like just under $20 shipped right now and I could live without the MGM doc since I've got WOZ. --Peter

I know you're trying to be helpful, but that site only addresses the Ultimate Collector's release of GwtW.

In all likelihood, the 2-disc UK release is PROBABLY the same as the ultimate collector's version, but I asked the question here because the site did not SPECIFICALLY reference the 2-disc release.

No...the UK version of GWTW contains the EXACT same two BDs that you would get in the UCE big box (or the upcoming "Scarlett Edition") here in the US...the ONLY difference is with the disc art (additional European ratings and some small foreign language text on them)....

I have the UK GWTW. It plays fine on USA blu-ray and it is the same as the first 2 discs of the Ultimate edition released in the USA. No worries.
