yeah but if they find an empty case and print a cover, whats the use
of a steelbook

I cancelled my online order... I'll just go the Amazon route. I'm not as picky as some when it comes to packaging, but a DVD-sized Blu-ray (steelbook or not) is just ridiculous.

I'm just happy it's getting any kind of metal box. Regular size is better than one of those eco cases!

I picked up Lost Season 5 about a month ago for $37. So if I wanted to take advantage of the $19.99 price I'd have to buy a new copy and return it with my original receipt, correct?

I'm still getting it at BB. I have a $10 gift card I have been saving for it. Besides, my Band of Brothers box-set is regular sized as well, so it will fit fine next to that.

Weekly comparison thread/tables done. Looks like Best Buy will be cheapest this week for Moon SD, The Hurt Locker SD, Fame SD and BD, I Can Do Bad All By Myself SD, Halloween II SD and BD, Post Grad SD and BD, The Brothers Bloom BD, and The Simpsons Season 20 SD.

Yup, just make sure you return by the end of the month.

The Blu-ray is $34.99. It is the SD version that is $19.99.

Yeah I actually bought the SD version and not the Blu-ray, but I accidentally posted my question in this thread instead of the dvd one.

I went today to do a price adjustment on Lost Season 5 and they refunded the difference of $16.xx without any problem.

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 1/10/10 - 1/16/10

Meh, looks like I may go to Target instead for Hurt Locker. I used my $10 BB gift card today for a game, so I will be using my Target Gift card for HL. lol Bunch of gift cards for Christmas are proving useful.

This is a Blind buy for me, I REALLY wanted to see this at the movies but it wasn't shown locally. Hopefully it is good cause spending $25 on a single blu-ray just feels wrong.

What are the chances Amazon will match the $35 BD price on all the Lost seasons?

What's the deal with Clerks II? It's been on Blu-ray since it was released, and I've rarely seen it below $25.

Now it's "on sale" for $15? No thanks. This is a $10 movie at best.

i loved clerks 2 and this was one of the only movies i bought on day one and actually paid more than $20. I know its not as cheap as Zack and Miri, but $15 is worth it. The PQ on it is pretty good, imo.

That's usually how Blu-rays work. They are rarely on Blu-ray before they are released.

Picked the Hurt Locker Steelbook BD. It's the size of a DVD and there were only 3 copies at my local store.

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 1/10/10 - 1/16/10

I kind of regret buying the Hurt Locker steelbook

Its really lazy. Theres no inner artwork, and there are 2 disc holders, with the 2nd one just holding a round advert for some other movie.

Shoulda just bought the regular edition. At least it would have fit with my other movies on the shelf :\

That didn't take long.

Amazon has price-matched the $35.

If you are trying to say it was on BlueRae-DVD since it was released on regular dvd, I don't believe that is true. I purchased the HD-DVD on the same day it was released on dvd.

Very true. Here's a picture. I don't have shots of the inside, since the size difference nudged me towards waiting for the standard edition to come up at a decent price -- which has more fitting artwork for the film anyway.

Correct, the DVD and HD-DVD came out on November 28, 2006. The blu-ray just came out February 3, 2009. So it's been less than a year...

my local BB had over 10 copies of the Hurt Locker steelbook; the store was deader than usual, guess it's a slow week for releases?

Those people should be watching "The Butt Hurt Locker" instead.
