Here are the images I took. You can't see how large this display is though. I'd say it has 6 sections, on the front AND back, so 12 different sections of DVD's and BD's.
Unfortunately, the pics confirm that Cocoon is $15...

Man, I was just at Wal-Mart to buy some food and their BD selection (@ the newer Supercenter on 45/183 in Austin) is now PATHETIC. They chopped their BD aisle down by half and half those titles are the double-feature discs... the other half are all priced $24.99 and above.
They do have some $8/$10 titles but they've been relegated to two side displays next to new releases.
Complete. Suckage. The Target across the way (a Supercenter) has two FULL aisles of BDs!
For the best local selection of BDs, I still hit Fry's, although their prices have been nothing to toot a horn at lately. 90% of the time for me: Amazon.

I went to my local Walmart today to try to find Jade or The Relic but the display they had up was mostly for $15 blu-rays and regular SD dvds for $7.50.

I was just at my (admittedly smaller) WalMart. An absolute abomination for Blu-ray. Actually, a lot less packaged media to begin with, but very few Blus, and a lot of those were at full price, $25 - $35....no thanks.

I have the RELIC ordered for $12.99 w/ the Collector at $16.99 through Amazon... tempted to drop the Relic since the Collector is such a good price but with Tax and time to go to Walmart it would be almost $12+ there. Definitely gonna keep an eye out for Cocoon though.

I wish the local Walmarts here in Michigan had those displays. They haven't changed their Blu-ray displays in weeks ... it's like their displays are stagnant. They switch out their DVD's but not Blu-rays.

Saw the new Orange standups in San Leandro walmart. No new blu's on it though, old stuff that has been there for months are on display for $10-15.

So annoying ... they just "revamped" the WM Supercenter here and in doing so they cut the number of Blu-Rays more than half ... what is up with that? Reading some of the other comments here it appears this is happening to more WM's than just mine. What is up with this?

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Des Moines Wal-Mart had the Casino Royale Blu with slipcover for $13, but it was in a really odd spot beneath the flat panel wall. It looks like they set up temporary basket style shelves all along the back to find a spot for all of the Blus after cutting the original aisle substantially. Also saw Independence Day for $10, but it was sold out. However, for anybody looking to use the Disney Upgrade coupons, I saw Up, and Bugs Life and Snow White for 24.99 each. Not much of a deal, but with the $8 upgrades it gets them below 20. However, Monsters Inc was priced at 34.99, so it appears completely random which ones they marked down.
I have to agree with the overall displeasure regarding Wal-Mart slashing their selection. At one of the other Wal-Marts in town in a less affluent area, they had a grand total of TEN blus beyond the poorly packaged double packs. Some of the new releases didn't even have a spot for the blu-rays, just DVD. I hate those double packs, just because I have so many of the singles. And now they make up at least half of the selection at all Wal-Marts.

My Wal-Mart is currently doing a major remodel/overhaul; they haven't really gotten to the electronics section yet.
My guess is that a lot of stores are going to be carrying less media (CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games) and start carrying more things like memory cards, cables, and cell phone accessories... basically giving more floor space to stuff that has a higher profit margin.
One of the Best Buys I frequently go to has done something similar; looks they shrank their CD section by about half and gave all of the space to cell phones and shit like that, and they now have Blu-rays, video games, and DVDs in the section that was once exclusively DVDs. The Blu-ray section there seems to be expanding while they're carrying fewer DVDs and games.

I know its such crap. My Walmart just has an endcap with some new releases and some more Blu's on the sides. Other than that its basically just one side of a middle display with cheap $10-$15 titles I either own or am not interested in buying. To make it worse I don't live in a very big town so Walmart and Target are basically the only options I have locally to shop for Blu's, so I usually just end up buying most of my stuff from Amazon.

I picked up Firefly BD at WM today for 36.96. I didn't even know they carried it. I know it's been online for slightly cheaper, but it was good enough for me since I had store credit...

Close Encounters has been showing up at other places for around $19.99, so the list price on that may have dropped. I've checked a few Wal-Marts for it but only found one without the CD- the only way I would buy it from Wal-Mart is if it had the exclusive CD; since they've bought and censored the Vudu on-demand service I'm going to be buying a LOT less from them now.

The nearest one to me still has the $8 Lionsgate (?) blu's, but instead of being locked up, they have them set up on one of the end caps with the regular dvd's.
I picked up 'Lord Of War' and may go back for a couple more later in the week.
