Yeah, Target.com still shows their 4K exclusive (with book) for $35, rwsharpjr must be talking about a refund.
Unlikely that could be duplicated however, as it's not even the same UPC as the one at Walmart.
If anyone got a pricematch/refund, then they just got lucky.

Yeah, just chatted with customer service, and they refunded me $10.56ish.

They asked for my order info and the link to the 4l in walmart.com.

Honestly, it was the quickest AND easiest price adjustment/customer service interaction I have ever had.

So much so, that I thought it was a little too easy, and took screenshots just in case, but I think I deleted them once my refund/credit posted.

Looks like Walmart has a couple of the 4K movies marked down early. (In-Store only)
Venom ($7.96): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Veno...d-Ws/488850407
Spider-Man Far From Home ($7.96): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Spid...d-Ws/666441586
MIB International ($12.96): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Men-...d-Ws/818135406
Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse ($12.96): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Spid...d-Ws/973174775

Looks like they are only available as in store prices. Gonna go by my local WM to check these prices later.

I went to Walmart and those titles are scanning at full price. I was able to order Into the Spider-Verse for $12.96 using online pickup. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.

[But can you buy them at that price?

If you can find them you can try, but pretty much other then Brickseek saying it and my store's web site saying it's in stock - none were on my store's shelf and none were listed as available in the stockroom.
I can't even place an order for instore pickup so there may be no way around it. If your store has them, you could certainly try to get them to sell them at the website price since WM at least should do that.
Looking at the empty slots at my store, I saw very few of the BF list on the shelf so it appears they've already stripped the regular stock and placed them on lock down.
I passing by a different smaller store tomorrow that says they have a feww in stock, so I'll see if that applies there too

Re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I was only really interested in Far From Home, and I was at Walmart, and I found it on the shelf, but it rang up at 27.96 when I scanned it. I thought about taking it up and asking for a price match, but I also noticed that the cover of the UHD didn't match the one on the website. Maybe it's just the slipcover, but I foresaw an argument that I didn't feel like having at the time. Also when you search for Spider-Man Far From Home UHD at Walmart's website, there is also another listing that DOES display the slipcover picture and shows the price as 23.10. That one also lets you order for in-store pickup, and the 7.96 listing does not. Or maybe those are seperate releases, but if they are, I couldn't find the one pictured at 7.96.

So I basically saw a million reasons to get shot down and didn't feel like trying to have that argument on my lunch hour.

Checking the UPC at Brickseek for the item is a bit off

The 7.96 4KUHD 043396561298
The current general 4KUHD version has UPC 043396 557796

I can't see any content differences, but it certainly makes you think that WM has a collection of specific BF UPC stickers different that it's regular stock That makes you wonder if the
2pm Thursday Shopping trip will work.

I'd bet that is happening in this case. They have specially marked UPCs for Black Friday inventory. They could be sitting in shippers in every Walmart's backroom. If the brickseek inventory count is accurate, I don't see any store near me with more than 3-4 copies.

MIB International ($12.96):
Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse ($12.96)
I did not see these prices in the ad or in the BF database from Walmart.
Looks like Walmart is going to price match best buy on these movies and maybe more, which is great.
I mean 3 cents lower. :D

Also weird and sad wally world does not have any $4 blu-rays this year, while Target has a few and Best Buy has the most.

When Walmart does their Black Friday sales, you can only get the sale price on specially marked DVDs and blu-rays (they have a colored PROMO sticker on the front, and a different UPC sticker on the back).

During their Black Friday sale, you can't pick a blu-ray off the shelf and get the sale price on it; you have to get a specially marked one out the big cardboard Black Friday display.

Does Amazon price-match Walmart's BF sales? I figure the $7.96 4k discs will be gone in the first 5 minutes that my local stores are open for BF, and I am not brave/crazy enough to experience Walmart during the opening of their Black Friday sales. Most of them will be available from Best Buy, but for $12.99. Still a good deal, but not a smoking hot one.

In years past you could walk in store early in the day and get some of the BF movies at the sale price. I was able to do that last year with The Greatest Showman 4K, Deadpool 2 4K, Alien Covenant BD and a couple of others. This year may be different, guess we'll find out Thursday.

I don’t know if that’s true. I couldn’t find some of the $7.96 4Ks last year in the BF displays and I went to the main movie area and took them off the shelf and they scanned at the sale price. They were even in those plastic theft deterrent cases.

The sale will have already started if you wait until Thursday. Can I presume you're talking about going to the store Wednesday evening and getting the Thursday sale price?

No I went Thursday morning. The sale hadn't started but they had already lowered the prices of a bunch of movies. This has been going on for years but last year was the first time a took part in it.

Yeah that is what I did but earlier in the day, no plastic cases though and I went through self checkout. There are exceptions where it is a WM exclusive(example: BD only, no dvd or digital). Video games are the same way just harder to get to since they are locked up.

YMMV on this. I usually go early and... relocate the movies I am interested in that I feel may sell out fast. I have never had an issue with this.

If it is a regularly stocked item, then the price is live all day on Thursday. It is part of my yearly Thanksgiving ritual to stop off at Walmart in the AM on my way to Thanksgiving dinner and pick up a few things. Usually I'll just take a few things that I may want over to the in-store price scanner and check what they are ringing up for.

Amazon is currently matching with a one to two month wait. So not faster at Amazon.

I’ve been successful in the past with the “regular” shelf copy with no BF sticker also. This is great early on or later if the cardboard bin is out but the shelf is fully stocked

Sometimes this can even net you a little more, as little as a slip cover or as much as the DVD or digital copy that isn’t in the cheaper stickered version.

It probably depends on how they're entered into the system; some might not have a different UPC code on the back, so they'll scan at the same price whether or not they're from the shippers. The last few years the Walmart I've been to has had a sign up that specifically said they would only honor the Black Friday prices on the DVDs/Blu-rays/4Ks that had the colored PROMO stickers on them.

I haven't tried to get an "off-the-sheld" disc in a while. I tried once six or seven years ago and it rang up at the regular price.

I'd say it's a very YMMV thing; you might get lucky on some discs, but I wouldn't count on it.

I just did it again this year. I went before 6pm and took them all off the shelf of the regular area and they scanned the sale price. It doesn't matter if the promo sticker is on it. I don't think it is YMMV at all. I've seen plenty of people say they've done this and there is no reason why it shouldn't work either.

Part of the YMMV is that some stores stripped their movie department of most/all BF items a week before (my 2 home stores did this, my in-laws closest store didn't) or blocked physcial access to the Movie Section
Some stores won't let some of the cashiers do a checkout of 'too low' priced items and even some self checkout people are on the lookout for such behaviour
I found several items that were supposed to part of the BF sale that were scanning at regular price (3 of the 8 items I scanned)

I recent went to walmart to check what they had left of bf movies any and guess they reboxed and save or just sent back any by chance. i scored minions br ,dvd, digital for $5 from bin. but not sure if that now reg price for br since they got bin so full and maxed out in ways or it just sale price for holidays. cause if they want stuff to sale they need put the price on their sign thing besides just slogans wheatever it might be at time. they even have bins of dvds in back maxed or almost max out space cause many or some have gone to streaming for movies now. we know walmart wanna keep banking but might wanna try make dvds cheaper cause they are now competeing with thrift stores lol for dvds used or not and even dollar tree lol. i had to actually use the store scanner to get an idea of cost and scnned twice to make sure i saw it right lol. so 5 bucks for br combo to me is not bad and both got the same extras so u not gotta get a new player just to check out extras later lol. now if not wanna fight for space at thrift cause of where they had media stored and sometimes those around seem to have some idea what they want but sometime not lol. may have to hit up walmart more for br now and really see of movies i really want have a combo by chance and after get a get limit scan all to make sure they are all same price lol. cause that is like 5 dollar tree movies by chance or 2 thrift store dvd lol. so many options lol.

I heart Walmart
Yes I do
I heart Walmart
How 'bout you?

If you say no.
It'll break my heart
So please say yes

Most stores I've visited are down to one bin filled with DVDs and BDs together. The DVDs actually might be the better value since they now often include a bonus digital copy of a different movie.

My store i go to most, have a dvd bins for 3.74 dvd and otehr 5 bucks and then last went blu rays was 5 by chance. some reason last saw they like combined the 2 dvd bins for some reason. i in area where media is priced different depends where u go. so after go dollar tree friday if none new i want or get none for any reason, then can check walmart after.
