Just thought I'd get this thread started, since I'm sure we'll be using it.

Yes & No... It was a good idea and I know we sure used the Wal-Mart one in the DVD bargains..... and I also thought about doing a Meijer thread, but know those stores are only in certain regions as well have some different names in other areas ....

Now if only Big Lots would start with Blu (other than the recent WB stuff), we could have a Blu-Ray Big Lots thread also...

P.S. I did come 2nd.. lol

Whatever happened to Walmart supposedly expanding their BR section immensely, anyway? They cut it down in my area a week after that article in the NYT, and it's never gotten any larger.

My Wal-Mart also cut their Blu-ray selection way down.

A few months ago they had maybe about eighty-to-one-hundred or so different titles in stock... two panels of their regular DVD section.

They have since cut that down to a single panel, and most of the spaces are empty. They basically have about three $10 BRs (like Robocop) and a handful of new releases. All together, it's about fifteen titles. I expect they're going to stop carrying them altogether before long. Like UMDs.

On the plus side, they finally dropped the price of the Magnavox BR players down to $98.

Every Wal-mart I've been to in my area has significantly cut down on Blu-ray stock. The new renovations though are cutting down on everything. Yet another reason to avoid that place altogether.

What's the point of this thread? Can't we just wait until there is a deal worthy of posting and then post that. This seems like it should be in store forum right now.

Unless there is some super cool point system for starting threads.

I think the running excuse is they cut down the BD software to make room for more BD Players (which is probably true). They really should stock more of those bargain bin BDs though that appeal to the Wal-Mart masses.

The one I'm at is two sets of shelves about 40+ DVD's each. They throw in a couple new releases each week but not much else.

In my area, one has two sections (one on either side of the players) and the other only has one section. I'd say the one WM has maybe 40 titles (if that) and the other 15 or so.

Mine got rid of Blus completely. Only have new releases and one or two tiles on an end cap...

I only see the same $10 Blu-rays that have been around for a while. Even the ones that were $15 like 2-Disc Casino Royale are now back to regular price. Too bad the stores don't mimic the website prices.....

I picked up Evil Dead II and Halloween, I was hoping that they would still have some copies of Chaos but none left to my knowledge

Sounds like Popcorn. I think I'm gonna grab a copy tomorrow morning...
