Apparently it's the same transfers for DONNIE DARKO, not sure if there any new extras though. I don't need the digital copy or the SD, so my old Blu will suffice.

I wish I had bought this at BB during the "trade-in" sale. I was thinking that the new version would be worth the wait.

According to Blu-ray.com, the only difference other than having the SD version and the digital copy is with the special features contained on the SD DVD. The reviewer says the DVD "contains a few (inessential) special features that weren't included with the 2009 Blu-ray".

The 10/18 Goonies pre-order is the first time it will be available in a normal case in the US. Previously, Goonies was only available in a gift set.

The actual disc content on all the releases (UK, US gift set, US case) should be identical.

Just FYI the single disc Goonies (without the huge box of goodies) has already been released in Canada. Bought it at Walmart last week for $18.95. Wanted to wait till I found it for $10 but in the end I caved.

Stopped in tonight for 5 minutes and grabbed

Cobra $9
Demolition Man $10

Couldn't pass up 2 new release action classics that cheap.

Was at a Walmart today at lunch and there were more empty spots in the Blu-ray rack than filled. I was going to take a picture to post how bad it looked but I left my phone in the car

I was sooo tempted, but I just can't justify upgrading when no extra features are included whatsoever. I am highly disappointed... But Demolition Man is such a great flick, I may cave eventually...

I'm sure they'll drop, but I have been in a mindless action kind of mood, so the price was right for me. Plus, I love Demolition Man, and the reviews have been very solid on the transfer, so I caved. Cobra was more of an impulse (as was Assassins when I grabbed that today), but upon watching it earlier this week, I didn't care. Haven't seen that film since I was a teenager...and it looked great.

Found "Copycat" and "Sleepers" blu-ray at Walmart for $10 each. Good films, great price.

I have zero interest in Cobra or Assassins but I've always loved Demolition Man too. I used to think it was a "guilty pleasure" but now I think it's just a darn good film. It's good to see some love for this movie. I'll grab it for $10 the next time I'm at a Walmart.

Sleepers was $9 at my local Wal-Mart. Of course I see it just days after I ordered it off Amazon for $15.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but found THE EXORCIST Blu as a Walmart exclusive at $15. No digibook and no theatrical cut included, just the Director's Extended Cut and a few extras.

Picked up Rounders ($10), Demolition Man ($10) and Specialist ($9). Demolition Man and Specialist were in the same rack in the middle and Rounders was around the corner on its own and the farthest away from everything else. Also saw Name of the Rose, but didn't have time to get it scanned. Does anybody know what the price in store is?

Demolition Man does have a Director/Producer commentary and a trailer. Cobra also has a director commentary and a 8 minute Making of Featurette along with the usual trailer.

I searched this thread, but didn't find anything about this. So....

While perusing the upcoming discs at Walmart.com, I ran across a cheap price for a Criterion Blu-ray. Intrigued, I did a search, and I found 16 Criterion Blu-rays that Walmart is selling for under $20:

Paths of Glory - $17.96
The Red Shoes - $18.96
The Makioka Sisters - $19.86
Sweet Smell of Success - $19.96
Still Walking - $19.96
Identification of a Woman - $19.96
Amarcord - $19.96
The Double Life of Veronique - $19.96
Fish Tank - $19.96
Broadcast News - $19.96
Shock Corridor - $19.96
Army of Shadows - $19.96
Yi Yi - $19.96
Modern Times - $19.96
Senso - $19.96
The Naked Kiss - $19.96

Obviously, I don't know how long these prices will last, but there're a few pretty good bargains here.

Do the blus come in their own individual cases or is it just a big case with all 3 discs?

They are in their own cases or they was when they first came out. Sucks because I have 1 or 2 from each set already.

Thanks for the heads-up! I snagged Terminator, Misery, Child's Play and Silence of the Lambs.

I don't buy many but Walmart carries Criterions? I'd probably pick up Paths of Glory if I saw it.

Man, this thread was pure evil. I could have bought about 10 titles on there. I limited myself to Misery, Jennifer's Body, Seth McFarlane's Cavalcade of Comedy and Child's Play for $22.26 I was at Best Buy and managed to get them to price match Slumdog Millionaire for $6.50 The clerk couldn't believe the price but didn't give me a hard time at all.
