I had to go to Costco today and was really hoping to find these 4 packs.
But the Costco in Roseville had next to nothing in the DVD/blu space.

Picked up All that Jazz and the Big Chill(dual)

They have two of them 4 pack bundles that have been posted on the web.
SKU 940262

Jeepers Creepers/Teen Wolf/Return of the living/ Klowns? again
The Amityville Horror(79)/Misery/ invasion of the body snatchers(yr?)/silence of the lambs
They also include MGM 90th Anniversary collectible artwork/faceplates, and all four come individually sealed.

Are you positive Jubal was the same price? I hunk it should be a little cheaper as it has a lower SRP.

Blu-ray forum also report this tittle as $20.

I'm going to wait for the B&N sale Criterion collection 50% off sale that starts
on 11/11/14.

I also posted the following in the last Blu you purchased thread, as I picked up The Wizard Of Oz 3D Limited Edition Boxed Set from the Pacoima, CA Costco for $55 (+tax). I thought the price was good for this set.

Not all Criterions are 50% off. "Mad World" and "On the Waterfront" were $19.99 when they have a $50 list price. Jubal was indeed $19.99. Fortunately with the B&N sale we have alternatives. Costco never advertised or promoted their Criterions as 50% off though most of them are. At least I never heard of them promoting them as 50% off.

FYI: The new Breaking Bad Complete Series Barrel Edition will be at Costco again for $179.99. My store says they have 8 copies to put out.

You're correct. Costco's prices on Criterions have never been "50% off". They're all $19.99 as far as I've seen. Seven Samurai is another example of a $49.99 MSRP that was $19.99 at Costco.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I saw the Complete James Bond including Skyfall back in stock for $100. As I mentioned on SD Costco thread, so far I have seen a lot of old stuff that Costco has had in the past during the holiday season, sometimes at better prices, but so far nothing new . Others have spotted some new SD complete TV sets but I have not seen them yet.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

When I was there Wednesday, I saw a selection of WB digibooks for $10.99 each. IIRC, there was:

CITIZEN KANE
GOODFELLAS
NORTH BY NORTHWEST
CHARIOTS OF FIRE
CAMELOT
DOCTOR ZHIVAGO

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Casablanca 70th ann. Edition, 21.99. I got number 00611 and I needed some drink coasters anyways. Amazon has it listed from a 3rd party for 149.95.

Went back today and they also had Singing in the Rain 60th ann. edition (comes with an umbrella in the box) and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition (Blu-Ray + DVD) for 21.99 each.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Some holiday hits:
"White Christmas"/"It's a Wonderful Life" #944642 $23.99
the two are packaged together; "Life" includes a colorized version

Individual films sold in a tin include a variety of extra objects:
"Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase
"A Christmas Story"
"Elf" with Will Ferrell
each of the tins are $16.99 and are item #918622

Single blu-ray disks for $7.99 each:
"A Christmas Story"
"Polar Express" 2-D version
"Scrooged"
"Elf" the item number for these is #947963

There are also several animated holiday box sets that have been offered before and will be on sale starting Nov. 21. Overall, it is notable that the book and movie sections grow to double in size as the holidays approach.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Checking earlier posts on this thread Casablanca and Willy Wonka were $20 last year. So they are a few dollars more this year. Gone With The Wind box is $35 about the same as Amazon.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

A fairly uninspiring line-up of deals for a place I have to pay each year to remain a member. I'm not even sure why Costco even carries media items anymore. However, they do have some spectacular Christmas decorations this year.

I made the mistake of thinking these sets included the blu-ray version of the movie at first, they do not.
Nothing against DVD.I still buy them all the time.
But you think the studio would included the best format of movie in these collectors edition sets.Must be old stock.

Amazon has National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Ultimate Collector's Edition blu-ray set for about $18.49.

Is the Max Max Trilogy in the steel tin packaging at $21.99 worth it? I saw that there also.

I was really hoping Costco, of all places, would offer a better deal on this.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

They usually offer a rebate of some kind on big box sets in December. It's possible they might offer it at a slight discount for Christmas.

Well, the idea is that a Costco membership is for more than just buying blurays and dvds. At least I go for more important items than media stuff.
