So, I'm watching the old reruns on TNN and I forgot how great this show was.

Anyone else love WKRP in Cincinnati?

Funny, smart, serious, ridiculous, it had it all! Ah, for the old days of television...

Awesome. I TIVO the reruns on TNN and watch them when I get home. They had the turkey episode last week (a classic!).

An all time great! Needs to be on DVD.

The second series was fairly lame, though.

That episode was one of the best 1/2 hours of television ever!

"The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet
cement!"

"Then the turkeys mounted a counter-attack... it was as if they were... organized."

Ferryman's Funeral Parlor was on this morning.

The episode where Venus talks to the cleaning lady's kid taught me the parts of the atom.
"Now these guys were real positive dudes, they called themselves the PROtons."

I actually worked with Venus (Tim Reid) on a television show he produced for Showtime. I was really looking forward to it since I loved 'WKRP' growing up. But, as much as I hate to say it, the guy was not very nice and hated talking about 'WKRP.' Very disappointing.

"For those of you who just tuned in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been BOMBED with live turkeys. Film at 11."

Remember the alcohol and relexes test where Johnny Fever got quicker instead of slower?

Loved this show growing up.....I live here in Cincinnati and it is amazing to watch the intro for the show and see the outdated city skyline compared to how it actually looks today!!! Great show...great cast!!!

One of the best episode IMHO was about those young fans killed at the Who's concert.I thought it was touching and well done.I read that CBS almost did'nt want to shows that episode out of respect for the familes of loved ones that were killed on that tragedic day.

Yes, great ep. Sitcoms used to be much more willing to push the envelope regarding serious subjects. I'm not sure why they don't anymore. Maybe Madison avenue?

Nessman: "Don't you know some sort of voodoo plantation thing to get paint off of frogs?"

Venus: "A what?!?"
