My vote goes to the April 20, 1991 show which featured host host Steven Seagal and musical guest Michael Bolton. People must've been lined up in Rockefeller Center all week to see that show.

Tom Green and Seagal are both great choices. I thought the Kerrigan show was hilarious in it's horribleness. What? I mean, I liked that one because I laughed so hard at her.

what?

I remember an episode from 82 or 82, hosted by Robert Culp. The opening bit with him and Eddie Murphy as Bill Cosby from "I Spy" was great, but the rest of the show was a bomb and he seemed very pissed off for the entire night. One skit took place on a submarine, but I think everyone wore dresses. That bit alone went on and on for about 15 minutes, much longer than a normal skit.

Michael Jordan. At least when Nancy Kerrigan was on, they had the pairs skating skit with Chris Farley as her partner - that was hysterical.

The sketch as Michael playing the first black Harlem Globetrrotter was classic. And what about the femine hygene commercial he did? A bad host was Charles Barkley if any athlete also Wayne Gretzky was pretty bad.

Steven Seagal couldn't act his way out of a box. Worst host ever.

Seagal's fate as "worst host ever" (Comic Book Store Guy's voice) was sealed when Jason Patric hosted. He did the self-reflexive monologue that included a talk with Lorne Micheals. When Lorne told him how awful the monologue was going, Patric said, "You must think I'm the worst host ever." Lorne said, "No, that would be Steven Seagal." Funny 'cause that was two or three episodes after Seagal. And 'cause it's true.

I believe that Steve Forbes hosted once, I don't remember much about the show except the skit with Teve Torbes or something.

My choice for worst SNL host has to be Bill Pullman. All of his sketches sucked.

Those were both horrible episodes, wish I could have seen the Seagal episode.

I guess opinion really do get polarized when you talk about Tom Green. I loved the Tom Green SNL show, especially the skit with him and Will Farrell singing around a clock.

My vote would have been the Steve Forbes show. Man, that was terrible. At least RATM was the musical guest.

Well, the [/i]"Official"[/i] worst host is Milton Berle, from back in the classic SNL days. The episode was so bad that Lorne Micheals refuses to have it shown in reruns or have any part of it broadcast in any way. After the original night it aired, the most anyone has seen were stills from the episode (used in a documentary), which lead many to believe that Micheals destroyed all tapes of the episode.

It is rumored that the audience was so disgruntled with the comedy, and Berles inability to remember lines or do good improv, that people actually walked out of the taping, and Berle almost quit mid show.

Jordan was great! The skit with Stuart Smalley, The Superfans, The female hygiene commercial. Nancy Kerrigan was awful but it was a heavily hyped appearance when the show was in it's worst lull ever (and that's saying something!). For someone who's been a host so many times, I've never thought Tom Hanks was all that great.
