In the "Criterion's little brother" thread in the main forum, someone mentioned The Asphyx. I remember Glenn (of "DVD Savant" fame) reviewing this a while ago with a thumbs-up. Need more info before I'm gonna take the plunge. Thx in advance.

I can definitely recommend this... to anyone who's only seen old pan&scan video tapes, the widescreen restoration on the DVD is a revelation.
The AllDay Entertainment version is out-of-print, but Image is now distributing the DVD and I believe that they have just repackaged the exact same disc.

Read the "About This Restoration" section for details about the pains they had to go through to make it presentable...
