Isn't it only a matter of time before Steve's reflexes start to slow and he's a goner?

How long do you think it'll be before he gets bit pretty bad or even killed?

I love watching the show and hope it doesn't happen, but he's doing more than I'd ever agree to.

I agree, this guy just seems too lucky. I really like him and his show and never want to see him get injured or killed (cuz then, no more show!), but it just seems like it's gotta happen sooner or later.
You have to admit though, he's damn brave.

I give him a few more years. He probably will be killed by a poisonous goana, or kicked to death by a kangaroo.

Crikey!

I'd have to say the same thing about Jeff Corwin. He even got bit last night by a non-poisonous snake and cut by an owl. He's as brave as Steve Erwin.

Yeah but Steve gets bit by non-poisonous snakes all the time. The thing is they're less careful with non-venomnous snakes than they are with deadly ones. So just because he gets bitten by a harmless snake doesn't mean it will happen with a deadly one (doesn't mean it WON'T either.........)

I agree that it's just a matter of time. This guy is just fearless! I don't watch it often, but I really do wonder about him.

Even in non-dangerous situations he gets pretty wild. He seems to have to make it dangerous (and I know this probably helps the ratings) but come on, it's animal planet. Do the ratings really matter a whole lot there? I digress

The other day I saw him in the tree with these Leapers and he was swinging from branch to branch up in the canopy just like they were...I used to enjoy climbing trees but I didn't ever dream of going from tree to tree up in the canopy...he's looney...

Ya know in one episode (I think it was the one where he picked up the 'fierce snake', the deadliest snake in the world) he said that throughout his whole life of dealing with snakes he's never been bitten by a venomnous one. I think he'll probably be alright....but you really do have to wonder about that guy.
"Danja Danja!" hehehe

He is only a 2-dimensional character on TV so he may never die or age. In real life he is an animatronic wax figure.

Steve Irwin is not respected by his peers because most of the wildlife biologists I have talked to say he mishandles the animals. I would agree with this. It is not only not safe to pick up a snake by the tail, but it stresses and hurts the snake needlessly.

I think he will eventually be bitten by a fierce snake. No matter how good your reflexes, mistakes will happen.

Either that, or he will have a body part or two ripped off by an angry crocodile. He has come close a few times.

It'll probably happen when his wife catches him in the outback gittin' busy knockin' da boots, humpin', thumpin' jumpin' with a kangaroo or something.

He was bitten by a croc, I think last month, during a taping. It was serious enough that he had to go back home to recoop.

Re: When will the Croc Hunter Get Killed?

Wow, I'm surprised this thread was never bumped when something did happen and he died on September 4, 2006.

He's not dead if you still have him in your heart. I personally picture him as he lived, with a stingray in his chest... briefly.
