This is a great movie, and I wonder if the DVD is worth getting, or if they will release a newer version of this Stanley Kubrick top flick? Thanks in advance.

I own this movie, and although particularly good to begin with, the dvd wasn't much better. There was very little surround sound and the picture wasn't much better than VHS. If you really like the movie i say go for it, but if you have it on VHS i'd spend the money on something else.

Wait until June and see what the re-issue looks and sounds like.
No, there's no much surround, it wasn't recorded as such... The picture is better than the VHS (really... VHS is suck) but it does have some problems. All in all it could have been better and it could have been worse. Absolutely friggin' barebones though.
