I want to buy The Little Mermaid DVD which CD Universe has currently on sale for only $14.99. After all the negative reviews and warning regarding CD Universe, I wanted to order it from buy.com which currently sells it for $25.49 and request a price match. The only problem is that you have to place an order with buy.com before they will tell you if they will price match CD Universe. The only problem with that is if they decline my price match request then I am stuck with my order from buy.com if it get shipped before my price match request is answered.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Will buy.com price match CDUniverse
I'm not sure if CDUniverse is one of the stores that they price match, but don't even think about trying it!
Their price match policy just stinks. They will price match ONLY if you request a price match within 24 hours of placing your order. Otherwise, forget it!
They take weeks to update their records to reflect a price match.
Also, don't try to get Buy to lower your price even when they have lowered their own price on pre-orders. I have talked to customer service and they confuse price-matching from price lowering. They just say they can't do it.
The main problem is that once an order is placed, it is seemingly cast in stone and cannot be changed.
Hope this helps

dvdirv,
Thanks for the info. I was afraid of encountering problems like the ones you mentioned. That's why I didn't place the order and besides the price at CD Universe went up to $27.99.
Thanks anyway,

CDUniverse.com is on the list of e-tailers that they will pricematch (they're on the list via the link provided by jellis). Btw, they have changed their policy to 3 days instead of 24 hours. I successfully pricematched Lion King 2 (CDUniverse $11.99, Buy $25.99) a couple days ago.
But it does suck that you need to purchase the item first then pricematch. So there's always the chance it may not go through or if the competition changes the price sometime after you submit your order before their pricematch dept. researches it. Oh, and never use a coupon if you're going to pricematch.

Tenjin is absolutely right about Buy.com not giving price-matches when you use a coupon on your order. Price-matching and coupons are separate incentive programs that can be used.
Why Buy won't allow two on the same order just doesn't make any sense.
