I got a KV-36FS16 Sony Wega last week. After Video Essentials adjustments, my wife and I finally sat down last night to watch our first DVD with component video and vertical compression. We chose Gladiator and, to put it simply, this was by far the best picture I have ever seen on a TV screen (at least a TV in our house). At times I was a little distracted from the film because I was marvelling at how good and detailed Russell Crowe's outfit or Connie Nielsen's jewelry looked.

Although I still consider this an interim TV to hold us until it makes sense to me to get a 16x9 HDTV (when all the disputes are worked out, there's a lot more programming, you don't have to buy a converter and the prices come down) this will do quite nicely until then.
