ok folks, i'm gonna try to explain this as best as i can...
i have a technics SH-AC500D dd/dts decoder.
i used to have an apex ad600a for a dvd player, and ran it into the decoder (via coax) with no problems.
i've upgraded my dvd player to a panasonic DVD-CV50, which has a 'built-in' decoder. however, since i have other devices that use my technics decoder, i opted to not use the 'built-in' one and run the dvd player into the technics decoder as well, via coaxial i/o.
everything works fine as far as dolby digital discs go, but as far as DTS discs, i get no sound at all, and the DTS light does not light up on the technics...
anyone have any ideas as to what's going on here?? thanks!

Dumb question: does the new DVD player pass a DTS signal? You can tell by looking at the front panel...you should see a DTS Digital Out logo.

well, speaking of dumb, i figured it out!
yes, it passes a dts signal.. turns out though that the default dts output is set to OFF.. i just had to change it to bitstream, and it's all set now! doh!
and to think, i've had it for weeks and haven't been able to figure it out... the lightbulb just went on i guess...
