I'm a bit behind, but I finally got the $150 Promotional Amazon from MCI. With the $50 off $200 expired, I'm looking for a decent DVD player and I'm willing to pay probably $60 - $80 more dollars to get what I need.

It'll have to play CD-R/CD-RW since I have a large collection of HK VCDs and stuff traded among friends.

Guys, got any suggestions? Or at least a decent DVD review site?

Audioreview.com is a good review site. You can't go wrong with Pioneer, Panasonic or Sony. Go to the home page of each of these companies and look at the various DVD players offered in your price range. The features section of each product should tell you all the formats that are supported, such as CD-R and CD-RW. I bought a Panasonic DVD-RV30 for an after-rebate price of $129, but I know that my unit doesn't read CD-Rs. Other Panasonics might, you'll just have to check.
