The Egyptian Lover Appreciation Thread

I have been listening to his music for a long time. My brother introduced it to me back in the late 80's and I have listened ever since. In my honest opinion, his production is top notch, especially on his first few albums and his newest release: 1984. Anyone else out there a fan of his music?

^^ That sounds like a cross between Planet Rock (Afrika Bambaataa) and Scorpio (Grandmaster Flash).

Yes! He was influenced by those older school producers. Here is the first song off of his last release.

What did he actually steal? The idea of the future? The electronic sound?

I haven't heard much of his recent stuff, but I'm a big fan of Brian Ellis, one of his current collaborators. I'll be checking it out.

If anyone is in the New Orleans area, he will be performing live on Saturday night at the Southport Hall in Jefferson, Louisiana.
