From the producer of The Babadook, and starring Martin Freeman, comes Cargo. Based on the viral short film, this is the story of a man and his infant daughter who are stranded in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in rural Australia. And when he becomes infected, the countdown begins for him to find her protection before he changes forever.

Another victim of quickly scanning thread titles ... I thought that said “Howling Remake”.

What made it worse was wondering how that becomes a movie called "Cargo" and then remembering some awful concept of were-kangaroos or werewolves that are marsupials. I don't remember the details, but I remember that actually happened ... I mean, a movie actually did that.

This dropped today. It's fairly good. Sort of a medium burn. There's very little zombie action. It's an interesting take on this situation from an Australian viewpoint

If anyone is wondering if this is good...I was so bored with it I had to fast forward to the end. This just wasn't for me.

Really almost nothing happens that you have not seen before better movies. Their stupidity is shocking like in almost all movies like this.

It worked better as a short. Too long and padded and boring.

Re: Cargo (2018, D: Howling/Ramke) S: Martin Freeman -- Netflix

I’ll go the other direction — watched it over the weekend and I really liked it. I’d compare it to “The Girl With All the Gifts” though maybe not as unique.

Not a blood and guts action film, but there is enough to make the point. It’s not a “slow drama” either, but it is a heart-wrenching look at a family trying to survive the apocalypse.

Well-made and well-acted (for the most part). It does fall into a few annoying tropes here and there, but not to the point that I tuned out. I didn’t think the characters were Walking Dead-level stupid as indicated above.

There is one thing I did not understand ...

Spoiler:
What was the deal with burying the zombie’s heads? At first I thought it had to do with euthanizing someone who was infected. However, when they go in the tunnel the girl says they “need the dark” to rest/recharge/something. Are the zombies burying their own heads to “sleep”?
