An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

I have gone into the dvd talk talk forum, and it feels like the only threads and interaction going on there is for the challenges. This is merely a suggestion, but maybe the dvd, bluray, and 4k discussion should be combined into one forum. Than have a seperate forum for all the challenges, its seems like there's enough that they go year round. Again just making an observation to shuffle up the forums.

Re: An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

I think i made a similar suggestion a few months back when someone posted multiple threads about mixing things up and reformatting the forums.

The DVDTalk forum could be for discussion that is basically about our community. Challenges, sheep games, meet-ups, etc.

Re: An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

The mods ran a bunch of polls last year about possible merging/consolidation. Not sure if anything came out of them.

It might bring back some more discussion and activity here by reformatting the forums to bring them more up to date.

Merging forums is still being debated. It's a complex, multifarious question that requires much sober dialectical consideration.

Look, if we start knocking down interior walls this entire place could collapse.

Jeez oh man, leave that poor DVD Talk forum alone. I swear that place gets more flogging than your poor old dumb dog. If that place gets on your nerves that badly, then just pretend it's not there and go do something else...

We are currently waiting on authorization to merge the forums from higher up the chain. They are probably analyzing risk/benefit.

Oh okay, I didn't think it would be that complex. I still think a whole physical media forum, than a separate challenge forum is the way to go.

Re: An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

Well, it's obvious. You're picturing a board meeting in which a risk/benefit analysis is performed on merging two forums that get maybe 20 views a day.

You would think they could make a backup but apparently things here are done stone age style.

Re: An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

This decision has to be voted on by the board of directors, so we have to wait for the next meeting.

Re: An Observation about the Dvd Talk forum

Why have separate threads for each topic? Why not one big thread featuring every subject imaginable? Sure worked well for the TV forum!
