Vince, a charismatic gym owner with no ambition, lives with his younger brother Michael, a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when the teenage son of Vince is dropped off on their doorstep by Priya (Mindy Kaling), one of his old high school flings. The cast includes Anders Holm, Andy Favreau, J.J. Totah, Mouzam Makkar, Nina Wadia and guest star Mindy Kaling. Charlie Grandy and Mindy Kaling will write and executive produce. Michael Alan Spiller will direct and executive produce. Howard Klein also executive produces. "Champions" is produced by Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment, Eyes Up Productions and Kaling International.

Looks like total garbage and something that'll be cancelled after 1 season. Was only curious because of the Workaholics connection. Any of those dudes going to find success after that show?

I am going to watch but will also not be shocked if it even ends up lasting a full season. I kept seeing promos for this when I was binging The Mindy Project over the weekend and it just looked bad...kinda surprised this is what Mindy Kaling moved onto.
Okay, before posting I decided to google to confirm an actor is part of the show and wow...one of the first things that pops up is a New York Times lede that says the series is Off to a Winning Start, we shall see soon enough.
ETA: AV Club also gave it a good review so while I was not on the fence as I already planned to record and watch if you are still making up your mind it sounds like you could much worse than chewing through 30 minutes of your valuable time watching this tonight.

There are hardly any sitcoms around nowadays so i check out most new ones
This wasnt totally aweful, it has some good elements but was just missing something

I kind of feel the same way...it is hard to put my finger on what needs to be unlocked to make it a really good sitcom to watch but I do indeed feel it is there lurking in the background.

I hated it.
Who was likable?
Maybe Kalimg’s character but I feel like she’s just a recurring role.
The kid, yeah he’s gay but wow so unlikable.
Nothing was funny, was it supposed to be?

I felt the same way. It wasn't that bad, but since it was a pilot it seemed a bit rushed as pilots usually are. I'll keep tuning in to see if it improves.

the pilot was just thrown together so it wasnt great but I'll give it another chance since its a Mindy show.

Terrible.
The kid is so annoying.
The fat blonde women is clearly typecast.
Kalling is not really part of the show.

I really want to give this show a chance to win me over but yikes it is making it harder than it has to be to keep me from giving up on it. If folks bail after this episode I completely understand.

I pretty much agree with the above comment. I thought the pilot was middling but had potential for growth. This latest episode was just bad. The kid was insufferable.
