Mulder and Scully investigate the brutal animal attack of a little boy in Connecticut, while suspecting darker forces are at play in the all-new "Familiar" episode of THE X-FILES airing Wednesday, March 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), on FOX. (XF-1109) (TV-14 D, L, V)

Cast: David Duchovny as Fox Mulder; Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully; Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner

This is actually episode 9 in the production order, but these are standalones, so it doesn't matter.

Not bad, not great either, but certainly better than some of the early episodes. They did well making very creepy kids TV characters.

For whatever reason this felt the most like classic X-Files than anything else this season.

I agree that this episode was the most classic like X-Files episode this season but it was pretty dark with the two kids.

Yeah, good episode, and the rough start to the season seems like distant history. The executive in the X-Files universe who OK'd those kid shows needs to be fired.

You know, except for the first episode (which was quite possibly the worst Files episode of all time), this season has been really good!
