What’s the over/under on Rockwell doing his little dance if he wins?

Looking forward to the show. This is the first year that I’ve seen all the best picture nominees. Thanks MoviePass!

I'll follow the thread here, but won't be watching. I've only seen Dunkirk out of the nominees

This looks to be one of those years that I will be more actively rooting against a front-runner that I don't like (Three Billboards) rather than for a film I do (Lady Bird, Get Out). I'll be happy for Roger Deakins though, so that's one winner I expect to be delighted about.
Two fun pre-Oscar things I found today:
1) This graphic is pretty interesting. It shows the nominees for all 90 years represented by dots for the frequency that they have been nominated in the category (though I ignore Foreign Language since they are representing countries rather than directors)
Current nominees are green dots. Thought Deakins would be a bigger dot. Some Cinematographers must have been nominated a bunch. You can see Denzel and DDL represented by good-sized green dots there.
2) CNN put together a ranking of the 18 Best Picture winners since 2000. Their list is pretty good (though I think they have Million Dollar Baby a little too high and A Beautiful Mind a bit too low). If Three Billboards wins, you can go ahead and slot it in at #18 for next year's list.

I'll be watching the Oscars live and commenting here, as well as on my own forum but no one else'll be over there.
I've seen 7 of the 9 Best Picture nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Actor nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Actress nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Supporting Actor nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Supporting Actress nominations, none of the Best Animated Feature Film nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Director nominations, none of the Best Feature Documentary nominations, none of the Best Foreign Language Film nominations, 4 of the 5 Best Adapted Screenplay nominations and ALL of the Best Original Screenplay nominations. So take my comments for what they're worth.
Not much.

So happy that Phantom Thread won for costumes. The costumes were the real central focus of the movie.
