Will the MCU ever have an ‘R’ rated movie?
We know Marvel and partners have made R rated superhero movies before (Deadpool, Logan, Venom, etc.), but will we ever see a dark one in this particular universe since MCU movies are very kid friendly, but some push boundary. Scenes in Civil War, especially, have pushed. But, a whole film R rated in MCU? I dunno. I guess I see no need, but perhaps a particular story could sway me...

Disney doesn't do R movies, so no.

But, things change. Tastes change. Attitudes. Is it corporate policy? Have they never been attached to an R rated film?

Ok, that’s convincing. Is it corporate policy? Was it in Walt’s will or something? Then I know they wouldn’t. But just saying that won’t doesnt make for strong case...

I doubt it. Not because of company code, but because if you're going to have a franchise that all tie in together, you can't cut off a chunk of your audience with an entry.

Wait, if Disney owns Marvel and Marvel has made aforementioned superhero movies, hasn’t Disney already produced and made R rated movies?

Marvel didn't make any of those movies, Fox and Sony did. They purchased the movie rights to X-Men and Spider-Man and can do what they like, Marvel/Disney aren't involved with those productions.

Though, Marvel did make the last Spider-man movie.
They might do themselves a favor and keep Reynolds though.

But the Marvel logo is always shown, isn’t it? Doesn’t that mean they had hand in production in some way, financially?

No, it means they own the property.

This is true, Marvel made Homecoming, but Sony paid for it and distributed it.
There is an agreement in place between Disney and Sony to use Spider-Man in the MCU for at least 2 Avengers movies and 2 Spider-Man movies. Spider-Man would likely revert to Sony after that, unless there is an agreement to extend the arrangement.
The "Spider-Universe" moves that Sony is doing like "Venom" and "Black and Silver" are separate from the MCU and Marvel is not involved with making them (apart from collecting a check from their license agreement).

I voted yes, because I thought Bob Iger said he wouldn’t want to change Deadpool as an R Rating if the Disney Fox merger goes through. Also I thought he wanted to create some kind of separate R rated Marvel brand.

Technically, yes. I read a while back that Kevin Feige still reads all scripts for non MCU Marvel movies (and might give advice, I forget), but not sure of his input beyond that. Not like he can really do anything if he had objections.

Disney doesn’t but companies owned by Disney do (Buena Vista). I vote yes but it’s not going to be branded as Disney. The likely scenario is they keep the Fox name active and continue putting out R rated Marvel films and maybe others under that branch. Maybe to further differentiate it they can brand it as Marvel and some secondary title rather than Marvel Studios. As long as Deadpool continues to make money there’s no reason to put a stop to it and I think they could eventually experiment with other characters who fit a darker tone as R rated.

I want to see one that's rated NC-17- mainly for violence.

Nope, not going to happen. You will never see a rated R main stream Iron Man or Captain America type movie. It's not going to happen because simply it doesn't need to happen, and the source material doesn't call for it. With Wolverine and Deadpool there is obviously a case for those, with darker and more violent characters. I could even see a future Batman or other DC movie going that direction, just because it would make more since given the content.
