Didn't care for the premiere (or last season's cliffhanger finale), but we liked episode two much better.
Show is still a lot of fun. Like the Twin Peaks reboot, it's a nostalgic trip.
And glad Mulder shaved. That scruffy look made him look much older.
Wish Gillian could cure that croup she has, though. Not as pronounced as last year but still there.

Does Carter even understand the characters he created? Scully was def. not acting like Scully with the aging comments and at this point can they not bother with even the notion of them hooking up is something strange?

I thought it came off as a pretty sincere moment of her contemplating getting older.

I thought it was an OK episode, better than the convoluted conspiracy stuff but still not that entertaining. I guess I should stop hoping to recapture lightning in a bottle and just move on.

This episode marked Karin Konoval's third (and fourth) role on The X-Files. She first appeared in my favorite episode "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", then scared the shit out of me with her turn as Mrs. Peacock in "Home".

In case anyone is interested Fox has all episodes from all season available for viewing free on their website for a limited time. I highly recommend both of the episodes mentioned
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose is Season 3, Episode 4
Home is Season 4, Episode 2

Like so many of the on-off episodes, the supposed premise of the story didn't make any sense. But it felt far more like the episodes of the first few seasons. Not one of best from that era, but not one of the worst ever either.

This was a good episode. I'm not as critical of Mulder and Scully's return as some of you guys. But I understand that, like my casual enjoyment of Star Wars, some people are really attached to the world.

I can't believe that recently we have gotten new The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Evil Dead, Star Wars and Blade Runner. Who woulda thunk it ten years ago? Anyway, I am enjoying these new episodes of one of my all time favs.

Mitch Pileggi tweeted this week that he shot the final scenes for the new season and said this was the definitive "END". Whether he meant for Skinner or the series as a whole, who knows. Then again, given how it's doing in the ratings, it's unlikely to be coming back.

Gillian Anderson announced that this would definitely be her final go-round.
I kinda wished that I had waited until this November to pick up the "complete" blu-ray set. Now there will be a puny little set beside the big clunky box.

I liked the episode overall, but I felt the premise ran out of steam about halfway through (after the lawyer lost his head). The writers clearly couldn't think of a way for Mulder or Scully to actually stop the psychic attacks, so simply had the twins turn on each other. The scene with Scully talking to Mulder in bed went on a bit too long and seemed like filler to pad the running time.

I sure hope it's the end because it's hard not see the continued suckage affecting the reputation of the overall series. Much of S9 was bad, but having most of 10 and 11 actually being worse in not working in their favor. Thankfully they did release the BD's for S1 through S9 individually.
