Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for director John Krasinski’s horror film A Quiet Place, starring real-life husband and wife Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
The film is a supernatural horror story set on a farm where a family has been terrorized by a ghostly being for some time. The film has minimal dialogue, because silence is survival. Noah Jupe (Suburbicon, Wonder) and Millicent Simmonds (Wonderstruck) round out the cast.
The film is produced by Michael Bay (Transformers) and his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller (Ouija, The Purge, Texas Chainsaw Massacre), from a spec script by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck which was rewritten by Krasinski. Paramount Pictures will release A Quiet Place on April 6, 2018.

The family decides to stay in such a place and deal with it by not talking instead of getting the fuck out of there and trying to live a normal life? Dumb.

I like Blunt and Kransinski but real life husband/wife teaming movies rarely work.

I'm always looking for the twist (damn you M. Night!). The family is the ghosts and the enemy is ghost hunters or exorcists?
The trailer was scary. Seems like the silence aspect could be really fun to watch.

That’s already been done in Shyamalan-esque movie. It was pretty popular yet I hesitate to name it so as not to spoil for those who haven’t seen it.

Krasinski's directorial career has been pretty subpar thus far.
Brief Interviews With Hideous Men was pretty bad and The Hollars was really uneven and had a lot of tonal shift problems. However it did contain probably the funniest movie scene I've seen in years with Sharlto Copely, John Krasinski and Josh Groban.
That said this looks really good, and horror is always a really easy sell for me.

I like the idea that we meet these characters and after they have been haunted for some time and have become accustomed to it. As well as the silence and sign language. Thats a bit of a fresh take on the genre.

I thought the trailer looked cool - loved the sign language aspect (and the actress playing the daughter is deaf in real life, so kudos to that casting).

Yeah, I liked the trailer and it looked interesting. Hopefully there will be a good story and I like the actors in this, so thats a plus.

They played this trailer in front of Insidious Last Key last night. Looks good enough, but why is that the fire made the noise yet them playing the board games does not? Do only certain things make a sound?

They role the dice on the carpet. The game pieces look like cloth. So it would be very quiet.

This looks really good. But I'm still hesitant to sit in a movie theater where I can predominantly hear people munching on food, slurping sodas, and clearing their throats for 2 hours. I could barely handle the dude noisily eating nachos during the two minute trailer.
I'm pretty sure I already know the ending. Will be surprised if I'm wrong.

Trailer looked interesting but I agree that this will probably end up as some M Night style twist, which we've seen before. They're really the ghosts...blah, blah...
