Those are some loose definitions of icons.

I enjoyed it except when they included actors commenting on comic book history. I thought this was going to be a little harder hitting but I guess Kirkman didn't want to burn any bridges at Marvel.
I had never heard that anecdote about Kirby returning to Marvel for its 25th anniversary party and his wife rebuffing Stan's attempt to work together one last time with Kirby.

Totally forgot about this. Glad that AMC is re-airing episodes 1 and 2 back to back very late tonight. I'll DVR both of those airings.
Looks like there are 6 episodes total. Episodes 3-6 will air weekly.

I still can’t believe how much older Stan looked in the 40s/50s compared to the 60s/70s.

I found the Wonder Woman episode fascinating in a documentary type of way. I feel like it was just a condensed version of the Marston movie that was out recently. I liked the Stan Lee episode much better.

I did not know Stan Lee wore a rug.
The first episode was great.

Granted it's stuff that we've seen covered in other documentaries in various details, but I enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes.
The 1st one did cover some things I didn't know that much about (Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's relationship) I kind of liked the animated images to help tell the stories.
The 2nd episode talked about the history and background of Wonder Woman and I liked how they gave a different spin on the background including the creator's past.

I just caught the 3rd episode last night.
Dealt with the history and background of Siegel and Shuster, the creators of Superman.
Like the Wonder Woman episode, it featured reenactments of their past and how they came up with the character and their fight to get it printed and eventually get paid when the character became popular.
It's a different spin compared to most of these comic history documentaries. It's almost presented like a docu-drama. I found it interesting getting all this background on these 2 men and having it shown on TV in a way that hasn't been seen before.

Yeah. Overall, they play pretty loose with the actual history of these stories. There are plenty of times while watching an episode that I say "It didn't happen that way."

Episode 4 was probably the best of the ones that have aired.
It dealt mostly with 9/11 and it's impact on comics. Featured interviews with many comic writers/artists and also had interviews with Jonathan Nolan, JK Simmons and a few other actors.
I didn't realize that 9/11 also had influence in the construction of the Civil War arc on Marvel.
I liked that this episode was a straight forward documentary and not dramatic reenactments like the last few.

I've seen several questionable tidbits already in the three episodes I've seen.

I didn't really like the 9/11 episode. Probably the worst of all the episodes. I felt like it served more as a pat on the back to the comic book industry rather than trying to reveal information that isn't well known. The other episodes might sugarcoat some details but at least they tried to present a whole story. This was just a stating of the obvious...that the events in New York influenced the direction of comics. Hardly revelatory in my eyes and mostly a waste of time.

Fascinating story on Milestone Comics.
I never heard about that until yesterday.

I thought this last one was phenomenal. I'm black and the early 90's was my wheelhouse but I never got into Milestone. I sort of regret that after seeing this episode. The art wasn't really my cup of tea back then.

I used to buy just about everything back then.
I liked Cowan’s Batman stuff but thought all the Mikestone books the art looked sloppy. Not just Cowan’s work. All of it so I never bought more then the first couple of issues of the books.
Until this show I never knew he was a black guy.
